Chapter 5

"Hey Garroth!"

"Laurence? What are you doing here?"

Laurence looked me over.

"You look fine. So I guess it wasn't you who was yelling so loudly."

Did he really think that was me? Obviously he couldn't actually believe I would yell like that...right?

"No. It was Lady Aphmau. Her dress caught on the railing and she almost fell out of the tree-"

"Again?"

I narrowed my eyes, staring at Laurence.

"What?"

"Nothing... Why are you here? The REAL reason."

Laurence looked up at the tree. His smirk was wiped off his face, it was now a frown.

"I heard a goddess' scream. I came to rescue her, and I saw a scene."

I looked up to see where Laurence was looking. He was looking at the railing. Aphmau was trying her best to repair the railing.

Then I realized...

Laurence could see what happened from where he was standing.

"Y-you...you saw that?"

Laurence nodded, looking back at me.

"Yeah. You got game man! More than I thought."

He playfully punched my shoulder, chuckling a bit.

"Laurence..."

I scowled at him.

"S-sorry bro."

I smiled again, Laurence did the same.

"It's alright."

I put my arm around his shoulders.

"Bro."

I patted his back, walking alongside him back to Phoenix Drop. We had big plans today, I was excited.

The real reason I went over to Aphmau's, was to stall her. Stall her for something special.

As Laurence and I walked down the stone pathway, I looked back towards the tree. I saw Aphmau, Levin and Malachi looking at the ocean. And I smiled.

This was going to be the most exciting day of my life.
