Clausia didn't feel so good.
It wasn't anyone's fault, really. It has been years, or perhaps even never, that this has happened. She had no one to blame but herself that she was now stuck in a hospital bed.
It all started well. Clausia was standing in the stage, still pretty much feeling the jitters. The curtains slowly opened. Thousands of pair of eyes were fixed on her. She had always been doing this with the same crowd, but she still felt queasy.
The melody poured out of the piano beside her. She bit her lip, and whistled out a pure tune.
The notes that she sang out later turned to lyrics. The loud applause echoed around the hall. Her heart slowly relaxed. Soon she was at her normal self again, the microphone right at her mouth, singing the incredibly high notes that no human being could. The audience gave a gasp and clapped, utterly impressed.
Clausia felt a headache rising up from her.She pushed on. She jolly well know that all the "Very Important People" are all staring at her. She definetely didn't want to stop and make a fool out of herself, and probably get kicked out of this career.
Clausia forced herself to go even higher. It worked. Her voice didn't break. Her head ached every second, but she pushed it aside. Everyone was screaming in excitement, standing from their seats and waving their hands wildly.
Clausia felt her throat going sore. She choked back coughs, trying her best to continue her record-breaking high pitched voice.
Finally the piano stopped. The song was over. Clausia stopped. The performance was over. The audience broke into thunderous applause. They wooed at her.
Clausia felt dizzy. Black spots danced all over her eyes as her vision blurred. She struggled to move and wave back. Her knees buckled, and she collapsed.
She grimaced, hearing the shocked audience gasp in horror and surprise. Black spots danced everywhere around her eyes. Her vision started to blur. She struggled to keep her eyelids open, and they fluttered.
It couldn't be. It wasn't time yet. Not yet.No.
