I was surprised we had actually made it 5 minutes without him questioning my answer. Then again 5 minutes isn't very long.

"I feel like I am missing something. You're going to fight at this thing?"

"Yes..."

"But other girls won't be fighting?"

"Eh it's not likely"

"You are going to be fighting men?"

"I'd hardly count the boys that I fight as men. Just boys who think their men and sometimes there are girls that want to fight. I haven't fought in a while though when I was a lot of the times it was girls." I had actually only got to fight guys when Jake was around and I hadn't been back in a long time seeing as how fighting illegally could get me banned from ever joining MMA.

"No"

"Excuse me?" Who did he think he was?

"Is that why Jake isn't coming he wouldn't agree to this. No way"

"Look Chase I am going to do this and you're going to keep quiet about it. Just trust me it's not like I am going up against so 200 pound guy it could possibly even be a girl I didn't ask, I was told they had a fight for me and that's enough for me right now. And plus Jake has been before" not a total lie.

"Then why can't he know this time?"

I looked over at him meeting his curious eyes.

"Why were you running at one in the morning?" I asked at an attempt to change the subject. I didn't really want to tell him that I was supposed to be on a strict no fighting hiatus.

"Ahh the subject change. I'll let you have it. If you must know it's because my father made it in tonight and he was in a swell mood"

The sarcasm in his voice was thick so I left it at that, both of us falling into a comfortable silence lost in our own thoughts. We pulled up to the Old Fowler building and could faintly hear the shouts from the basement. I pulled the bike to the side Chase following behind me. Once I got it settled I threw my hood over my head and looked up at him. He really was incredibly handsome with a jawline to die for. I closed my eyes trying to clear my head and mainly because I didn't want to get caught staring.

"Alright it will be a mad house when we get down there. I'll have my fight soon so try and stay near Tim it will make it easier for me to find you. Okay?"
"Hey" Chase cut me off stepping in front of me "I'll be fine. I've been to plenty of these before. Are you okay?"

I smiled up at him, at the concern in his voice "I am perfect. I live for this." I said.

He looked at me then, studying my face and when he seemed satisfied that I was fine a smile spread across his face nearly taking my breath away.

"Alright then lead the way" he moved to the side yet stuck his hand out for me to grab so that we wouldn't get separated once we were inside.

I took his hand leading him through the side door down three hallways until we reached the stairwell where the sound was defining. I could feel the adrenaline starting to pump through my body at the anticipation of the fight. I had been out two weeks and even though I had been training still it was so mild and I hadn't been able to par with anyone. I felt Chase squeeze my hand and I realized I was still standing at the top of the stairs. I looked back at him for a moment and then started down the stairs his hand still in mine.

As soon as I stepped on the bottom stair I spotted Tim and began maneuvering us through the crowd to him. This mostly consisted of me shoving people and Chase glaring them into silence if they had anything to say. When we got through to Tim I let Chases hand slip from mine missing the warmth of it immediately.
