Neil

I sighed after everyone went to bed. I wonder when I'll ever get to run a Kingdom! I walked in my room and closed the door behind me. I looked around to make sire nothing or someone was looking then walked towards my desk. I looked around once more and brought out a quill and an ink. An old man gave it to me a year ago just after Amelia was taken back to Neverland. He said that I'll know the right time to use it and or when to give it to Amelia. Problem is, I hate writing with a passion. Reading, sure, I love reading. Writing, I can't do. I don't have a strong imagination like my whole family does. I sighed just staring at the ink and quill when I heard a bump. I frowned and quickly kept the ink an quill.

"Neil?" A voice called as I frowned and looked towards my balcony to see Amelia panting. I had wide eyes and immediately walked towards her. Should I give her the ink and quill now? But I don't think it's the right time. Maybe later, just act normal and not tell her about the ink and quill. "What the hell are you doing here?" I asked helping her get in. "You have to promise not to tell a soul." She replied panting. "Yeah, I can do that." I replied confused. "The Author threatening our peace just confronted me." She replied as my frown grew. "He what!?" I asked as she covered my mouth. "You're too loud!" She whispered as I calmed down.

"Sorry, repeat that again." I stated as she removed her hand on my mouth. "I said, the Author confronted me." She replied sitting on my bed. "Yes, I get that, but he confronted you about what exactly and why the hell are you telling me this?" I asked confused. "He told me to get out of his way and I'm telling you this because you are the only Charming that would not act rashly, but rationally." She replied smiling. "Why not Emma or your lover Pan? They both are rational. Or maybe even Rumple." I replied smirking. She blushed at the mention if Pan. "Oh, so he is your lover?" I asked as she punched my arm. "Ow! For an old lady, you're strong." I teased as she glared. "Stop sassing me and let me speak!" She yelled crossing her arms. "Alright, you do not have to be such a baby about it." I replied smirking.

"I couldn't go to Emma because she's going to go to Rumple and Rumple's going to confront Peter and I. I don't want that. I can't confront Peter because he's not going to stop until he sees the author dead because of what he did to me." She replied blushing. "You didn't answer my second question." I stated crossing my arm and leaning on the post of my bed. "Which is?" She asked avoiding it. "Oh, don't pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about." I replied raising a brow. She groaned pouting. "Alright... Yes, yes he is, but I have to avoid him." She mumbled frowning. I frowned sitting beside my great-great-great grandmother who looks like my age.

"He said he would write Lost Boy a better story, but you won't be in it?" I asked as she closed her eyes and nodded. "Quite right." She replied covering her face with her hands. "What were you doing out in the first place anyway?" I asked embracing her. She cried on my shoulder silently. "I wanted to see Hatter." She replied sniffing. "Why would you want to see the Hatter?" I asked frowning as she sighed and pulled away from me. "The author could've made him suffer because I made him be a happy man. I made him leave his old days as a mercenary traveller for his daughter." She replied making me even more confused. "Sorry, what? Are you implying that you are a damned author!?" I asked finally getting why the old man gave me the ink and quill. "Shush! They'll hear you!" She whispered slapping my arm. "Ow! What is with you and hitting me!?" I asked rubbing my arm. "Sorry, it's a habit I used to do when my brother and my... and his best friend used to tease me." She replied sadly. I frowned crossing my arms. "Wait, let me get this straight. You're actually the same age as me and you're not from our world, but you are related to us somehow in a blood kind of sense." I stated sighing.

"Goodness gracious! Finally someone who knows and understands! You really are a Charming." She said smiling. My frown grew. "I do not follow." I said confused. "Neil, you figured out what I really am and your mind is open like the rest of our family. Well, technically I am still your great-great-great grandmother, but somehow I do not age. Do you get it?" She asked grinning. I smiled hugging her tightly. "Can I tell you something then?" I asked as we pulled away. "Sure." She replied sighing in relief. I may have the Author's ink and pen. "I may have taken a liking on the Hatter's daughter. And can I call you by your name then, not grandmother or something." I replied grinning. She smiled and nodded. Damn it! Something messed up my mouth into saying that. "I'll keep your secret as long as you keep mine, Neil." She replied smiling. I nodded and we both stood up, walking towards my door.

"Thank you for listening to me. If you need anything, you know where to find me." She said giving me one last hug and I closed the door behind her. I closed my eyes taking in a deep breath. That just gave me motivation to keep that ink and quill as a secret a bit longer until the time is really right.

Neil did not know that when the time comes for him to use the ink and quill, it would be the only hope for everyone living in this realm, but that's another story for another chapter.
