~Chapter Three~

For the rest of the night, she kept her eyes shut, but never really slept. Thoughts swirled in her mind about Josh. She missed him, and wanted to be with him again. It was all a lie that she thought he never gave her enough satisfaction. He always got her what she wanted, even when he messed up, he would make it up in the end.

It was just that lately, he hadn't been spending enough time with her that she got a little mad. His business was starting to take the time away from the two and they she felt that they were beginning to drift apart.

"Hey, are you awake? I made breakfast." Finn knocked on the door. Rachel was more than awake, so she quickly got up and went to the kitchen.

"Good morning." he grinned behind his dorky glasses. "Morning." Rachel responded, sitting on the dining table. "Here. Pancakes and scrambled eggs." Finn slid the plate onto the table. It was different for Rachel. Nobody has ever cooked for her. Except maybe her parents when she was younger.

"Thanks." she smiled, picking up the silver fork. She took a bite out of the eggs, which were cooked just right. Not too overcooked that it was burned, nor undercooked that the yolk was still runny. "I didn't know you can cook?" Rachel asked, taking a bite out of the pancakes.

Finn blushed a little, "Uhh... yeah." he said nervously.

"Aren't you going to eat?" Rachel asked, taking a sip from the glass of orange juice. "No, I ate already. I have to get ready for class." Finn said, grabbing his bag. "Oh." Rachel muttered, looking down at her plate of food.

"Are you... going to stay?" Finn asked. He hoped that she would. He liked her company. Living alone was just... lonely. "Umm, you don't want me here?" Rachel asked, sounding a bit worried. "No, no. It's fine. I don't mind. You can stay as long as you want." he smiled.

"Oh okay..." she smiled.

"Well, if you need anything, you could call or text me." Finn said, "I wrote down my number for you on the refrigerator." he pointed. She quickly glanced over, "And there's a spare key here, just in case you... wanna go outside?" he added with uncertainty, but he was completely trusting her.

Rachel was surprised about it all too. If she was some thief, she could've taken everything. "Okay." Rachel answered. "Okay then... I think that's all." Finn said, heading towards the door. "I'll... see you later?" He asked, giving Rachel a questioning look. "Yeah." Rachel replied. With that, Finn left the house, leaving Rachel all by herself.

After eating breakfast, she went to watch some television. But, that got boring after a while, so she decided to go out. Surely, being outside would've been more fun than sitting here all day, she thought. So Rachel went to the kitchen and took the keys as well as copying Finn's number.

Finally, she left the house. Since there was no transportation, she'd have to take the public bus. Which, she had never done before, but there's a first for everything. As she made it to the closest bus stop, and stood there waiting. Within a few minutes, a bus did come; it wasn't too crowded, luckily.

"Mam, you need to pay the fare." the fat bus driver lady said. "I'm sorry?" Rachel questioned. "The fare. You need to pay $2.50." the driver restated. Instantly, he opened her mouth gasping in realization. "Sorry." she muttered, taking out her purse, and dropped her spare change in.

She continued onto the back of the bus, holding onto a handle.

After passing some blocks, she recognized a familiar street where her favorite cafe was. The Lima Bean.

Carefully shoving people out of her way, she made it off the bus, then heading towards the little cafe. "Sorry." she bumped into a stranger. "Watch where you're going!" the man yelled, then stormed off in another direction. "Jerk." she muttered under her breath.

Rachel crossed the street, and finally arrived. Inside the place, there were many customers as usual, but that didn't stop her from wanting to order her drink. About five minutes of waiting in line, it was her turn.

"I'll have an ice latte please." she asked, watching the worker punch some buttons on the cash register. "That'll be $4.95 please." he said. "$4.95? It's usually $3.50 only!" Rachel complained. He shrugged, "Well, it's $4.95 now. Are you going to pay that or not?" the cashier asked.

Swearing in her head, Rachel wanted to yell at the guy. He had poor service, rude behavior, and a bad attitude. "Fine." she muttered, taking out her wallet. She rummaged through all the receipts and cards, but there was no more cash.

"Hurry up!" a man called from behind. Rachel grew more frustrated. "If you can't pay for it, could you please step to the side. There are other customers." the worker asked. Embarrassed, she slowly stepped away from the counter, when another voice spoke up.

"Here. Keep the change." the voice said, placing a five-dollar bill on the counter. Rachel looked to see who was doing this for her.

"Josh?"
