The Princess and The Host Club

Chapter 6

It was lunch the day after I was released from the hospital. I was waiting for Caiden to come over. I was just about to call him when I heard the doorbell ring. I got up and walked to the door. I opened it to see Caiden standing there.
"Eagle." I say to him.
"Wolf." He replies, walking passed me to the dining room. I follow him as he sets his bag on the table and sets up his computer. I set down the file with murder and we start working. "So. did you read the file yet?" he asked.
"No. I wanted to wait for you." I respond, opening up the file.
"Maria Lovegood. 28. She died by a pill. everyone thinks that its a suicide."
"Then why are we investigating a suicide?"
"A witness said that they saw her with some one else before she collapsed. They didn't get a face of who was there, but they could tell it was a man. All they saw were shadows, no voices and no facial details." Eagle said.
"Do you think its related?" I ask, more to myself than to him.
"What's related?" he asked I pulled out the little note from HIM and gave it to Caiden. he read it then shrugged. "Might be. Do you really think he did it?" I shrug.
"Just an idea." at that moment in time, my phone went off. I answer without checking the ID. "Hello?" I ask.
"Hi, (y/n)." it was Kyoya. What does he need?
"Need somethin'?" I ask.
"I was wondering if we could come over."
"And by 'we' you mean..." The doorbell rang. "Hold on." I get up and answer the door. it was the host club. my phone fell to the floor as i ran to the dining room. "Pack everything up. Now." i said, rushed and quiet. he nods as i close the file and put it in his bag. he puts the computer away and grabs his bag just as the host club walks into the dining room.
"Dropped something." Kyoya says, smirking. i snatch it out of his hand just as it started ringing again.
"What?" i say, a little irritably.
"Well. I didn't expect you to answer, daughter of mine." He chuckled. I froze. I stared wide eyed at Caiden. He pulled out his computer, turned it on, and handed it to me. I instantly hook my phone up to the computer while answering.
"I wouldn't have if I saw it was you." he just laughed, the voice coming out of my computer speakers.
"Are you alone?" He asks.
"No." I say.
"Oh. Such a pity. I just wanted to see my baby girl and spend time with you. You know, father to daughter." my breathing hitched in my throat. i was shaking. i looked at Caiden and mouthed 'call Tiger'. He nods and leaves the room to talk to Tiger (Yes from Whinney-the-poo).
"We can leave if you want to spend time with him." Kyoya whispered in my ear. i shake my head vigorously.
"Who said I wanted to see you. I left you for a reason." I retorted.
"Such a shame. Goodbye honeysuckle." He said the last word with venom dripping from his voice. it sent shivers down my spine. Computer dinged, notifying me that it got his location.
"(y/n)! did you get the location?" Caiden asked, walking back into the dining room.
"Yeah. Its not that far from here. Look." i showed Caiden and he read the address off of the computer screen into the phone. Afterwards, he hung up and took a deep breath. I ran a hand through my messy (h/c) hair
"You ok?" Caiden asked. He's the only one who knew just how shaken up i get just by hearing the man's name. I nod.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm ok. Just a little shaken up." i reply. he rubs my back before heading out he door.
"I'll call you later." he calls out before closing the front door. I lean against the table before looking at the host club.
"(y/n). Can i talk to you privately?" Haruhi asks. i nod before getting up and showing her to my room. Oh. I forgot to tell you. I know Haruhi is a girl. once the door to my room is closed and locked, i turn to Haruhi.
"Need something?" I ask.
"I want to know a least a little about your past." She says. I nod.
"Before we talk..." I trail off, walking towards the door. "I need to do something." I say. I lean against my door and raise my leg. I bring it down and pound it on the door, flat out. i hear a chorus of 'ow's and footsteps walking away. the only problem is, I only hear 4 pairs of footsteps. I sigh and unlock the door. when i open it, two certain twins fall on the floor in front of me. they look up at me with nervous looks. i smile a genuine smile, for the first time in forever, and started laughing.
