Song: 'Waiting Game' by Banks

'I don't want to repeat my innocence. I want the pleasure of losing it again'

There was a time in history where the Original Family of vampires, the oldest and the strongest to walk the earth, would do anything for each other no matter who it hurt. I guess in some ways that's still pretty true even though the ties that bound us all together is wearied  thin as each betrayal hits harder than the last. The loyalty still lies between us even if it's deep down because I don't think there's limits to the lengths you'd go till your loved ones are safe. No matter how many times we all stab each other in the back, we'll always have each other's backs. There is nothing stronger than the sacred bond of family.

As dysfunctional lunatics we'd stick together because we promised Always and Forever. A quote that has turned toxic by keeping us all in close range of each other. Never once letting go and finding our own way because who in hell would we be if we turned our back on our family? The only living (non-living) people we have left in this world? To give up the very people we've had since the beginning? You can't ask that of anyone.

No one hurts our family and gets away with it alive. If you fight with one Original, then the rest will fight. Things change, however, when we're the ones sharpening the knife to inflict harm on each other. To our very own family we'd hurt. No one else is aloud to hurt our family except for us and I'm assuming that's where our sanity starts to blur.

What can I say? This family wouldn't be a family if we didn't try and kill each other here and there.

"You've been out of the box for a month now and you still drive like a bat out of hell" I glance over at Katherine in the passenger seat. Her hand wrapped tight around the arm rest of the seat, I almost think she's about to rip it off. Her jaw clenches and even though she tries to mask the panic on her face it's easily readable in her eyes. Tensed up and trying not to look outside the car or else it will make her breath heavy again.

I simply roll my eyes at her dramatics as I swerve around a slow car on a two lane road while going at least 20 miles over the speed limit before getting back in my own lane. Watching as the slow Volks Wagon gets smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror when I press my foot harder against the petal until it's nearly horizontal on the ground. The trees going pass us in a blur as the black 2015 Jaguar eats up the miles between us and the distance of the small town we're finally headed to after all this foolishness.

"You just had to pick a fast car" Katherine continues on, muttering more to herself.

"Oh come on, They didn't have these in the 1700s. It's my first time seeing these contraptions and I believe the term is 'Go big or go home'" I Inform her "Besides I like fast things, you should know this by now"

"No wonder why Kol loves you" she mutters under her breath but I still hear it. My eyes narrow into slits, not at all enjoying her commentary.

Mentioning Kol though excites me. I have missed him.
