Angel club: end of chapt. 1

School the next Monday wasn't something that either girl was looking foreword to eagerly. They practically clung to each other the whole day! At lunchtime, the two girls went to eat in the courtyard, away from everyone else.

"You haven't...changed into a wolf? Have you?" Flora asked Alaska, skittishly.

"No. And I don't want to!" Alaska snapped back quickly.

"Are you in a bad mood? Are you mad at me?" Flora shied.

"Flora, I'm really scared and kind of angry right now and-!" The next thing Alaska knew, her words were nothing more than a series of barks and whimpers. She began to panic and lunged at Flora, who jumped backward, just in time to dodge Alaska's pounce. As she hit the ground, Flora transformed into a whitetail deer. Alaska, now, of corse, a wolf, chased a still terrified Flora around the courtyard and students and teachers were brought outside by the shrieks, howls, barks, and crashes that were heard.

Many recorded on their phones as the two animals ran into the shelter of the woods.

Deep within the shelter of the woods, the two girls lay on the ground, completely out of breath, partially from pure terror, and partially from the invigorating run.

Alaska pushed Flora to her feet and motioned in the direction on Alaska's grandmothers house.

She knew that wolves and deer couldn't communicate verbally, so why even bother trying?

The walk to the house seemed endless and it began raining.

They returned home, soaked and tired. Alaska's grandmother was thankfully grocery shopping so they could get to their rooms without notice. The transformation wore off as they regained strength and then both girls got a change out of their soaked clothes.

"Wanna watch a movie?" Flora awkwardly asked.

"Anything but Twilight, Balto, or Bambi." Alaska said.

The best friends sat quietly through the whole movie, which they settled to be Babe. It had been an eventful day...but somehow, Alaska came to terms with herself.

"WE'RE FREAKING SHAPESHIFTERS!!!" She screeched, excitedly.
