Present day
"So do you think she'll let you go?" My best friend Vanessa asked.

"I don't know, we just moved back here and I-" I started but she cut me off again.

"Savannah. You're 16. It's summer. This is a once in a lifetime chance! How often does a girl ask her best friend to go to California for a whole weekend? And pay for everything?" She explained.

"I know it's just. My dad. He's so happy to be living back in New Jersey and I don't think he wants me running off just as we move back." I said.

"Sav, it's for a weekend. At least ask." She sighed.

"Okay I'll ask at dinner." I smiled.

"I'll talk to you later, text me!" I added as I hung up the phone.

I met Vanessa when I moved to Texas, but she recently moved to California. Her dad remarried to this bitchy lady and she demanded they move to LA so that's exactly where they went. Not that it was a problem though, her father is rich.

"DINNER!" My mom yelled.

"Feels good to be back in Jersey right?" My dad asked as he handed out plates with pizza on it.

"I guess." I replied.

"Why would you say that?" He asked.

"Dad, last time I was here, I was 4. I couldn't even write my own name." I laughed.

"Still, you're my little jersey girl." He smiled.

"So um I wanted to ask you guys something..." I started out.

"Yes?" My mom asked.

"Well...summer just started & I don't know anyone here. I don't want to go to camp, I'll just wait until school starts to meet some kids but I really miss Vanessa. When school starts I'll never be able to see her now that she's in California & she wanted to know if I could fly out to her this weekend. Please? Can I go? Her dad said he'll pay for everything even my plane ticket!!" I begged.

"Savannah, we just moved back here, you can have much more fun here then you-" my mom thankfully cut off my dad.

"We will think about it." My mom said giving my dad a look.

"Thank you!! Just, can I please have an answer by tonight? It's Thursday and she said I could go down there tomorrow morning." I explained.

"Yes we will tell you by tonight." She said.

I silently was screaming with happiness on the inside.

4 hours later
I was in my bed watching pretty little liars when my mom walked into my room with my dad. I slammed my laptop down.

"So? Can I go? Please?" I asked.

My mom started laughing.

"You can go, but only this one time, you're not staying there for long, we want to have some family time and your grandparents are going to come up & your cousins soon." My mom explained.

"thank you thank you I love you!!" I smiled hugging them both.

"Better start packing!" My dad added.

"Where's the suitcases again?" I asked.

"Well, you're only going for a short weekend so just take your suitcase." My mom said.

"My suitcase? The small one?" I asked.

"Yes, the carry on bag. Vanessa's dad isn't paying for a regular sized suitcase you drama queen. You're going for 3 days!" My mom laughed.

"That thing is sooo old." I groaned.

"It still works." My dad said.

"It's up in the attic." He added.

"Okay." I rolled my eyes walking to get my suitcase.

I moved boxes after boxes, until I finally came across a small, old and black suitcase. The  zipper was nearly broken and the color was faded.

"Oh well." I sighed.

I carried it into my room, quickly shoving clothes in while talking to Vanessa on the phone. This is gonna be the best weekend ever!

Grayson's POV
"Here's all your stuff." My mom said handing Ethan & I our boarding passes. We were headed down to California for Digifest in LA.

"I packed for you boys too." She smiled.

"Aww thanks mom!" I said hugging her.

"I'll go get them!" She said.

"Can't wait to get outta jersey, there's literally nothing to do here." I scoffed to Ethan.

"Yeah LA is gonna be liiiit." Ethan laughed.

I scrolled through Instagram until she came running in the room with 2 small suitcases.

"Here!" She laughed.

"Mom are you kidding me?" I asked while laughing.

"You're going for 4 days! It's fine! Besides dad & I need the large suitcases for when we go to Hawaii." She smiled.

"This suitcase is from when we were like 4." Ethan said.

"I found them in the basement the other day, I figured you would laugh." She said.

Ethan & I rolled our eyes.

"Goodnight boys." She said heading upstairs.

I put my suitcase down throwing the boarding passes on top of it. When I grabbed the handle something got caught on my hand. I looked down. On a large faded peice of a lanyard read the word 'Bup'. I furrowed my eyebrows together thinking. I looked over at Ethan's, he had one too. His read 'Boo'. I started laughing.

"What?" Ethan asked.

"There's these tags on our suitcases. Mine says Bup and yours says Boo" I laughed.

I stopped laughing.

Ethan's eyes met mine.

"Bup, Boo and." We said at the same time.

"And Sav." I finished speechless.

Sav.
