It was dead quiet. Yoongi was alone.
A cup of coffee beside him gone cold
His laptop was open, but he wasn't working.
On his desk lay a file.
FILE - DR. CHA EUNWOO
A knock came from the door.
Assistant: Sir, good morning. You have no meetings today.
Yoongi: Hm.
Assistant: Should I reschedule anything?
Yoongi: No. Leave.
The assistant bowed and quietly left.
As the door clicked shut, Yoongi leaned back in his chair and stared at the ceiling.
His mind drifted back to yesterday.
The nurse station.
Jimin laughing.
Eunwoo standing too close.
Jimin's trembling voice. "I'm sorry, Hyung."
Yoongi's fist tightened.
Yoongi (quietly): Damn it.

He sat up and ran a hand through his hair.
10:30 AM
A knock echoed through the office.
Assistant: Sir, your coffee.
Yoongi: Put it there.
The assistant placed the cup on the desk.
Assistant: Sir, the board lunch is at 1:00 PM. The car will leave at 12:30.
Yoongi: Hm.
Assistant: The new report from the hospital has arrived as well, sir.
The assistant placed another folder on the desk.
Yoongi opened the file.
Page after page.
ATTENDING: DR. CHA EUNWOO
SIGNATURE: DR. CHA EUNWOO
DEPARTMENT: SURGERY
He continued flipping through every page with growing impatience.
Not once did Jimin's name appear.
After a long moment, Yoongi slowly closed the file, his expression unreadable.
Yoongi (quietly): Only him ?
He looked out the window toward the hospital standing in the distance.
Yoongi: Cancel it.
Assistant: Sir?
Yoongi: The board lunch. Cancel it.
