So, now you know the moment where it all began. Turns out I'm not so different from you, am I? All I was was a clumsy girl falling literally headfirst at the feet of my crush. I guess, however, that the reason this scene is so different from the norm is that I didn't just fall for my crush; I fell for my celebrity crush. Apparently this sort of out-of-line behavior is grounds for murder in the eyes of millions of fangirls around the world. A word to the wise? You're better off falling for the school boys. Heartthrobs bring nothing but trouble.
But then, trouble just seemed to follow Holden around. It would probably be existent even if he wasn't famous. He was one of those boys who was a magnet for drama. Personally, I think it was the curls. The hair and those eyes, which let me tell you were even more beautiful in person. My heart nearly stopped beating as I accepted his outstretched hand and scrambled to my feet.
"Yeah, that's mine, thank you." I muttered, snagging my phone from his grip, still not completely coherent. And can you really blame me? I was facing a member of the biggest boy band in the world, and holding his hand!
Oh right, his hand! I quickly let go, wondering if he found it weird that I held it for such an unnecessarily long period of time.
A crooked grin from his face told me he found something I had done amusing. I had it narrowed down between my crazy mutterings or my rapist-like hand holding when his voice pulled me out of my thoughts. "I'm Holden," he informed me, as if the crazy fan hiding in the bushes and falling at his feet wouldn't know his name!
"Cassie," I offered my hand, feeling awkward and unsure of how to approach this unusual situation.
My hand was grasped in a firm handshake. "So, Cassie, care to explain to me what you were doing in the bushes behind my bus?" Holden questioned with a bit of humor in his voice. His eyes, however, held actual curiosity.
"Um, you know..." I responded nonchalantly, "Studying them for... biology?"
I received a dubious eyebrow raise in return. "Learn anything interesting?" He questioned.
I froze. This felt like a test.
Oh who was I trying to kid? There was no way he believed this was an accident. I was wearing a cute Skyline top for goodness sake! "I can't say that I have," I replied, looking down and breaking the eye contact that was making me feel like a dirty liar.
My heart was still racing uncontrollably and I was beginning to sweat from nervousness. I brought a hand up to smooth out my nature-destroyed hair and noticed it was shaking a bit. I quickly lowered it back down.
"Do I make you nervous?" Holden asked. There was humor in his voice again, along with a bit of cockiness. He knew how he affected girls, the fans were proof enough.
