I stand here smiling
I stand here contemplating
The water below looks clear and blue
The water below is being tossed by the storm
The sun heats my body, lifting me up
The rain drenches my clothes, dragging me down
I place my sunglasses on the ground, knowing I will retrieve it later
I place my hat on the ground, a last tribute.
I turn around and look at my friends
I turn around, no one is there
I take a few steps back, a running jump
I stay where I am, it will be easier.
I take a deep breath and jump
I take a final breath and jump
I feel like I'm flying, free
I feel like I'm escaping, free
I hit the water with a neat splash
I hit the water sinking down deep.
I swim to the surface, and gasp for air
I let myself be dragged down, my lungs gasping for air
I'm finally happy
I'm finally gone
