The nurse smiled once again.
"Of course I can help you! That's what I'm here for!" She said.
I took a deep breath, before going into the story of how my father died.
The nurse frowned when I finished.
"Amber...that's not possible." She said.
"I know! But it happened!" I said. Pleading with her to believe me.
"Sweetheart I know someone who can help you." She smiled at me, unlocking the door, and taking my hand, she lead me through the building.
It smelled like a hospital. And it was very dull and boring.
I walked quickly, ready to get out of this place. She lead me to a room with two chairs. The walls were the color of chocolate, and there was a nice looking lady sitting in one of the chairs.
"Hello, Amber." The lady sitting in the chair said, smiling at me. She wore rectangle glasses, and was holding a note pad. "Sit down please." She said, gesturing to the chair in front of her.
I slowly walked over, and sat down in the chair, looking over to the nurse for reassurance.
"I'm Lila...Lila Goodwin. Could you tell me what happened to your dad?" Ms. Goodwin asked. I nodded, repeating the story I was growing so tired of telling once again.
Ms. Goodwin nodded once I finished.
"I see...Amber you have to understand...what you think happened that night...wasn't real." She said gently.
"It was! Of course it was! I saw it with my own eyes!" I exclaimed, jumping to my feet. I saw the nurse move out of the corner of my eye, ready to restrain me if necessary. My eyes filled with tears as I looked over at her.
"I thought you were my friend." I said tearfully.
"I am your friend, Amber." The nurse said.
"Amber, listen to me." Ms. Goodwin said. I snapped my head back over to her. "Everything is okay." She said.
"You don't believe me." I said.
"Of course I do! Of course I believe you!" She said. "It's just...maybe that's not what actually happened." She said gently.
"I'm not lying!" I said.
"I've heard all I need for now." Ms. Goodwin nodded to the nurse.
"I'm not lying! I'm not crazy!" I yelled as the nurse grabbed my shoulders, and began leading me out of the room, I turned my head to keep yelling at Ms. Goodwin.
"I'm not crazy! I'm not! I'm not lying!" I kept repeating, even as the nurse locked the door to my room, and walked away.
"Please! Believe me! I'm not lying! I'm not crazy!" I yelled after her, banging on the door, before breaking down in sobs.
I sat on the floor with my back against the door crying.
I want mommy...I want daddy to be here.
I thought, bringing my knees up to my chest, and wrapping my arms around them, before burring my face in my knees.

"Pathological Liar."
Detective Kayla looked up as her partner dropped a thin file on her desk.
"The Waters kid. They diagnosed her today."
"Still, I can't believe a little girl would have the capability to do something like that..." Detective Kayla said.
"She's sick, Kayla." Rosie said.
"I know, Rosie, but still...to kill your own father at the age of eight, you have to be really sick." Kayla said. Rosie nodded.
"So do you think she did it?" Rosie asked.
But before Kayla could answer, her cellphone rang. She answered it.
"Hello?" She said into it. "Okay we'll be right there." She said, hitting the "end call" button.
"That was Doctor Chang...he just finished examining the body." Kayla told Rosie.
Fifteen minutes later they were in the morgue, looking down at Mr. Waters' body.
"There is a stab wound to the chest, it pierced his heart, killing him almost instantly. The knife seemed to have been repeatedly stabbed into the same spot, as the marks were jagged, but that's not the most interesting thing..." Doctor Chang said, pulling off his nylon gloves. "I found traces of ice around, and in the wound."
Kayla looked at Rosie, and Rosie looked back at her.
"Ice?" Kayla asked, looking back at the doctor.
"Yes...there were traces of frostbite on the are of skin around the wound as well." Doctor Chang said. "This was no ordinary knife."
"Thank you, Doctor Chang." Kayla said after a moment.
"Of course."
"Call me if you find anything else." Kayla said, walking out of the lab with Rosie.
"That's...weird..." Rosie said once they had gotten to the parking lot.
"Very." Kayla said.
"So what do you think?" Rosie asked.
"I think this case is far from over." Kayla answered, getting into her car.
