I return to the house that Pops and I live- next to Sarah's and Kyle's. I see Pops sitting at the table, looking through bills that needed to be paid.

     "Hey, Pops."

     He looks up to me. "Hey."

     I kiss him, and wrap an arm around his shoulder. "So- where's Connor?"

     "I don't know.-"

     "What?"

     "He could be on the school bus, still. You know how public school buses are."

     "Ugh, I know."

     I wish Connor would understand why he has to take the school bus. He just thinks Pops and I won't take him because we're too lazy. We're just so busy. I turn on the TV, but I hear someone knocking at the door.

     I sigh. "Who could that be now?"

     "I'll get it."

     Pops gets up, walking to the door, while I get my heavy hand bag on the kitchen table.

     "Pops, there's something you need to know!"

     It's Randi. She sounds worried.

     "Why, what's wrong?"

     Her husband, Curtis is there, too. "Connor's school is under lockdown!"

     I drop everything I'm doing and go to them. Connor's school never had lockdown before. That was always rare.

     "What?! They're under lockdown?!"

     Pops is worried just like I am. "Where did you hear this?"

     Randi is the first to report. "We heard it on the news! They said he went missing with three other students! They think he may be dead with the other 20 students that were killed!"

     I cover my mouth, close to tears. "Oh no! What are we gonna do?"

     Pops hugs me. "We'll find him, don't worry."

     Curtis warns him. "We'll help you. You just have to be careful. They have some creepy things running around everywhere."

     "Okay, but what about Brianna?"

     Randi rolls her eyes. "We can't get to her. School won't let us take her home. Her school is under lockdown, too."

     "So it's up to us now."

     Curtis cocks his handgun. "That's right! Let's go be awesome again!"
