There I was, standing in front of my aunt's house.It has not changed at all, it remained the same as ten years ago.
After unpacking my mom said she wanted to pay my aunt a surprise visit and dragged me along. I said surprise because no one knew we were moving back to Beacon.My mom calls my aunt and cousin like once in a month and on their birthdays and days like christmas and easter, but we haven't seen them since we moved.Hell, I don't even think they'll recognize us.
"Are we going to stand in front of the house all the night or are you going to knock on the door?" I said,since we've been like this for about 10 minutes.
"Yeah, you're right, I should probably knock."
"I know, I'm always right" You could probably sense the cockiness on my tone from a mile away.
I waited a few more minutes for my mom to knock on the door,but then I grew impatient and knocked on the door myself I swear she was so still you could mistake her for a statue.
A few minutes passed before a boy with puppy brown eyes opened the door,his skin was naturally tan and he probably was my age.
"Hey, are you looking for someone?" Puppy dog eyed boy said.
"Yes, we're lookin for Melissa or Scott McCall" My mom said. Huh, and there I thought she had become a statue.
"I'm Scott McCall, and my mom went grocery shopping,she'll probably be back in a few minutes though.If you don't mind me asking,who are you?" Okay,so this was my cousin.He is way taller than the six year old Scotty I remembered,but now that I look closely he had not changed much.I mean, he grew up and all but he has the same features he had when we were little,the big brown eyes,the uneaven jaw,the tanned skin and more.
"Honey, I'm aunt Lizzie,and this over here is your cousin Tessa" When she finished the phrase she hugged him like she haven't seen him in years.Oh yeah, we haven't seen him in years,huh,my bad. At first Scott tensed up but a few seconds after he processed the information he returned the hug. Guess who was just standing there watching awkwardly? Yup, I was.
"Guys did you get stuck in the hug or something? If you want I could look for something to help you..."
They just broke the hug and my mom glared at me while Scott had a mischevious smirk plastered on his face.
"Why are you guys looking at me that way? FYI you're scaring me" And it was true,the smirk Scotty had was the same smirk he would have when we ate a birthday cake aunt Melissa just finished doing for their neighbour when we were litlle. Mom continued to glare at me, but Scott just came where I was and threw me in his shoulder and started running across the yard.
"AHHHHHHHHHH- SCOTT PUT ME THE HELL DOWN OR I SWEAR WHEN I PLACE MY FEET ON THE FLOOR I'LL HUNT YOU DOWN AND TORTURE YOU WAYS YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW EXISTE-MOM WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU LAUGHING AT COME HERE AND HELP ME OR ELSE I WILL BURN DOWN YOUR NORA ROBERTS COLLECTION OF BOOKS-JUST WAIT UNTIL I'M BACK ON MY FEET I'LL- "
"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!!" Scott got paralized at the sound of the voice.I presume the woman with the grocery bags was my aunt.Wow, she has not changed at all.You could barely see some wrinckles around her eyes,but apart from that she looked the same way I remembered her.Her long dark curly hair was gathered in a low ponytail, she was wearing a nurse uniform, so I guess she went grocery shopping right after work.
"Heeey auntie Melissa..."
