Sam was walking down the hall. "First day of school. Again." she thought. She saw the other ninth grade girls. "They think they're so popular." She said to her best friend Kim. "You're right. They look like they're cool but all they really are-" Kim got interrupted. "All we really are, are what?" Mallory questions. Kim turns around and opens her mouth to say something but Sam grabs Kim's arm and they walk away. "Why in the whole darn universe would you ever do that?" Kim nearly screams at Sam. "You said yourself, they think they're so popular, but now you're pulling me away when I try to speak up for myself? For you?" "I'm sorry!" Sam burst. "I didn't want them to have a bad first impression." "A bad first impression?!" Kim says. " I can't believe it!" "DING" the bell rings. "See you later." Sam lashes.
