One month later Levi was walking to work and was hit by a car. He was put into a coma. Eren became very depressed after this and stayed at the hospital all the time. He even slept there. One day the doctor told Eren that they had to take him off life support because it didn't seem like he was gonna make it through this. Eren nodded and failed to choke back the tears as he filled out the paperwork. In his mind he felt like he was killing Levi.
The day that they were taking him off life support Eren swore he saw his hand move. The doctor just said that it was his mind trying to convince him that Levi would make it through. Right as the doctor was moving the machines Levi's eyes opened and Eren yelled "Wait he's awake." Eren was so happy until he saw his eyes. Those weren't Levi's eyes looking at him. Of course they were his eyes the same color, but something was different. He knew exactly what was different when Levi kept staring at him and confusingly asked "Who are you?"
