"We have to get that!" My best friend Lucy squeals as she startes at a dress in a store
"Yes we do!" I return the excitement
We are best friends. We've been friends for all of high school but I feel like I've know her forever. We just work. Everyone associates us together.
We're at the mall for the rest of the day. We're seniros so we have reduced schedule.
"Wait! We have to be home soon! We have to get ready! There's no time!" Lucy tends to get stressed and over react a lot. But I love her for it
"Lucy, calm down. We're the same size. You go try on the dresses and I'll go pick up our Starbucks" I put my hand on her shoulder to calm her down
"Calm down!?! I can never be calm!"
I laugh and hug her and we go our separate ways.
I didn't even bother asking her what she wanted. I know what she wants. I mean you have to know your best friends Starbucks order. Its just common knowledge.
I get to the line and pull out my phone to wait. I start playing piano tiles. And yes I know its old but its addicting.
I was so engrossed in my phone I didn't even realize it was my turn to order.
"Excuse me! M'am!" The last rudely screams
I blush "Sorry my fault"
"Can I please have two grande iced Oprah chai lattes made with coconut milk?"
"Is that all?"
I nod and hand her my gold card. If you look down the logo is fading from too many swipes. That's when you know you're a white girl.
My drinks are called and I grab them walking back to the store I left Lucy at. When I get there she's just walking out.
"Perfect timing" we both say at the same time and laugh. I swear we're like twins.
I hand her her drink. "Thank you darling" she responds
I smile and we make our way to her car. I hop in the passenger seat her in the driver seat and we blow that Popsicle stand.
We have to get ready for cheer tonight. We're both captains and before games all the girls go to eat together. And since we're in charge we have to go.
My train of thought is brought in the other direction when Lucy plugs in her phone and puts on the Pitch Perfect finale. This is literally our favorite! If we weren't sitting we would be dancing.
"Seems like every body's a price...." And from there on we were spot on. Singing and laughing together.
We get to her house and run inside finishing up our drinks and tossing them.
We go upstairs and put on a pair of matching soffes and a school cheer shirt. We then out on our cheer shoes and lay on her bed waiting to leave soon.
She flicks the TV on and we begin to watch Clueless. One of our favorite movies. I had this phase sophmore year were I would actually say As If all the time. God what was I thinking.
"Hey do remember when.."
"Shut it!" I shout jokingly knowing she's going to bring it up
She laughs and both bring our focus to the movie.
We finish the whole movie and then get in the car to leave. Its 3:15 school just got out.
"I still find the ending so weird" I comment as I click my seat belt in place
