"I wanna watch Ducktective, Dipper!!" Mabel yelled for the thirteenth time, as she poked Dipper on the cheek.
"Ugh! Mabel, go away! I'm trying to watch the news!" Dipper groaned in annoyance. He focused back on the tv.
"But the news is so boring!" Mabel moaned. She flopped on her back and glared at the ceiling. Suddenly the TV made a loud beeping sound. The news reporter was handed a small piece of paper from one of the cameramen.
"Oh uh...breaking news!" The confused reporter started. "An unidentified virus has begun to spread through California and is moving swiftly through the state. The virus induces 'zombie like' effects and causes the host to try and...attack other people around them. The people they manage to draw blood from soon begin experiencing things like, horrible headaches, skin turning a pale green shade, and...oh my...um...and their skin starts to...decay and fall off..."
Dipper and Mabel gasped in unison.
"Th-that's awful..." Mabel stammered in a disgusted tone.
"I hope mom and dad are ok." Dipper responded, fearing the worst for their parents. "We should call them." Mabel nodded in agreement and raced into the kitchen, Dipper trailing right behind. Mabel grabbed the phone off the receiver and hurriedly dialed the number belonging to the twins parents. The two waited for a second...ten seconds....thirty seconds...a minute. No one picked up the phone on the other end.
"I'm sure their fine." Mabel said, trying to stay positive. "They probably are just at the grocery store or something." Dipper sighed. "Yeah maybe. But we should call again later, just to check. I don't want any zombie parents." Mabel giggled.
"Anyway I'm sure the government will be able to contain the outbreak before it reaches our parents." Dipper reasoned. Mabel nodded. "Yeah."
The pair walked back to the living room, slightly uneasy. There was a sense of dread that hung heavy in the air. What if the twins parents were 'zombified'? The two tries to push that thought to the back of their minds as Dipper sat back down in the comfortable chair in the living room and Mabel turned on Ducktective to lighten the mood.
