“Wait what?!” Billy whispered and turns around in that direction.
“It-it broke down” I whispered back.
“I know that! But-but what if….ugh” He sits back in his seat and keeps looking at the snow.
We weren’t that high in the air. We were already close to the peak of the mountain but because it’s a GREEN trail, it’s not steep and we aren’t that high from touching the snow with our skies.
“Billy, we are not jumping”
“Why not? It will save us”
“We can’t jump with our skies!!! That’s illegal! We could get hurt and in trouble!”
“We will take our skies of and land on our butts. And we won’t get in trouble because I can fix the problem. I know mechanics and I could fix something down there. “
Ok I have to admit I’m scared of heights. And jumping!? JUMPING?! WHAT GOT HIM TO THINK THAT?!
“I don’t know Billy, I’m scar-“
Billy moved close to me and met my eye and said “Listen Monika, everything will be alright. It’s been already an half a hour we have to get down.”
“Ok” I said “Ok, but you go first” I insisted
Billy took off one ski and made it land so it would be sideways. In order for your skies to not fall down the mountain is by putting them sideways. Now he took the other one and opened the handle of the lift.
“Here I go…”
“Wait!”
“What?...”
“I’m going with you”
“You sure?”
I started to take my skies off and put them how billy did.
“Positively sure”
“Ok….give me your hand”
I gave him my hand, closed my eyes, and jumped out.
When I opened my eyes I felt pain. And now I wasn’t holding his hand anymore…….
