Eight year old Panarin sat in front of her elder sister Penny, 14, reading aloud from the story Cinderella,"And they lived happily ever after. Thee end" the young, well younger girl chirped. "Hey PigPen what did those two words in the beginning mean?" "I dunno FryingPan there are lots words in in stories." Penny replied lounging between the roots of the towering oak tree over head, lazily chewing on blade of grass. Pan stuck her tongue at her," Ya' know the words mom and dad." There was pause only the wind that had drifted through the abandoned playground they resided in she glances up at her,"Well, a mom is the girl that raises you and a dad is the guy that raises you." "So that means your my mom" Pan inquired,"Um not really, but if you want to put that way sure i guess." She sat up scanning the empty sandbox and then looked up to the sky. Shades of grey angry swirls." Come on Pan get your stuff, we have to go into the city, its gonna rain." "Whatever you say old lady"Pan obeyed dusted off torn, stained boardshorts and striped tank top. Shoved the thick fairy-tale book into her worn satchel, adjusted her beanie and ran after her sister,"Hey wait up!" Walking through the forever empty freeway,"Hey penny will you wake up some day" "I dont know Pan, if any one will wake up ever again." Yet another silence, but it was short lived. Panarin looked to the skyline of lonesome giant skyscrapers," If no one will wake up Ill find someone whose been awake." She then looked up to her nearly transparent sister, a persistent spark in her eyes being set ablaze, her signature mischievous smirk drawn across her face. Without even realizing she had started her very own story at the end of everyone else's.
