Alana Banes

The sweet smell of cinnamon awoke me from my slumber. I was up automatically standing by my car in a defensive stance. I listen carefully, wolves were coming. I’m not sure how many but from the sound of things more then I cared on running into. Unsure of how far away they were I was unsure if it would be a good idea to try and change. I would be most vulnerable when shifting. I couldn’t risk that. So I just stayed where I was at ready for anything.

The smell of cinnamon was growing stronger and stronger by the second. Even though I was nervous the stronger the scent got the more relaxed I felt.  I was sniffing around the air to try and catch the direction the smell was coming from and that’s when I see him. My mate. Great I’m fucked.

“And what do we have here?”  One man said to the group of four he was walking with.

“It appears to be a female were alpha.” one of the other men said.

“I well aware of that Brian.” My mate said. Oh my god. He was an alpha as well my luck couldn’t get any better. I backed up closer to my truck growling lowly and baring my teeth. None of these men intimated me and I needed them to know that.

“Relax we don’t want to hurt you little wolf can you please shift so we can talk, seriously we mean no harm.” I growled one more time letting him know that I wasn’t fond of his little wolf comment. Trotting around to the other side of my car I shifted and grabbed a long T shirt out of my back seat.

I knew that as soon as I was in human form he would realize that I was his mate, but what could I do? Fate has a funny way of doing things. I looked over the car at the group of oddly similar looking men who all had looks of awe in their eyes.

“My name is Alpha Evan Kensington, Alpha of the Black Creek pack. These are my brothers, My Beta Shane, Brain, Kory and Will, you are?” He inhaled deeply and walked around the car the rest of the men stepped back nodding their heads in recognition.

I took a deep breath to calm my self before I answered so I would be calm, I didn’t want any of them picking up on the lies I was telling.

                “My name is Alana.”

“Well as much of a pleasure as it is to meet you I’m wondering why you’re all alone, unmated on our territory?” It was now or never. Did I tell the truth? What could go wrong? He is my mate; I know that even if he hasn’t confirmed it yet.

“I ah uh” I was at a lost for words, what could I tell him. I guess the truth always works. Still I wasn’t ready to tell the whole story.

“I’m from the Silver moon pack, Alpha Banes is my father” They all went pail as soon as the words left my mouth. SHIT SHIT SHIT I knew I’ve should have lied. “I’m just passing through I’m on an exploration trip. I wanted to see all of Briscane before I came of age.”  My heart was beating so loud I swore everyone could hear it. Hell if you looked close enough you could probably see it beating through my chest.

“Silver Moon territory is a long way from here, I’ve heard of you pack though they are pretty strong. I do not believe that your father let you travel all of Briscane by yourself.”

“Honestly me either, he probably has people following me.” I let out a nervous laugh and stepped a few feet back.
