Nightmare

-While Echo Is Sleeping-

*In Echo's Nightmare*

"I fucking hate you!" My father yelled at me and started beating me. My mother was lying there on the floor, dead.

"Daddy please stop.." I cried.

"Shut up!! The more you complain, the worse it'll be!!!" Father yelled.

He continued to beat me and I continued to cry.

-End of Nightmare-

I woke up crying. I ran to the bathroom, sat in the corner, and cried.

*Bryan's POV*

I woke up in the middle of the night and Echo wasn't next to me. I heard crying in the bathroom and checked to see who it was.

The door was locked.

"Echo? Are you in there?" I asked worried.

I just heard more crying. It sounded like Echo.

I yanked on the doorknob and started banging on the door.

"Echo, please, open the door!" I somewhat shouted.

My eyes started filling with tears.

"Echo, please.." I said weakly.

Then I heard the doorknob rustle.

I opened the door and Echo was standing there with tears streaming down her face.

I immediately pulled her close to me and said, "Echo, please don't worry me like that.."

"I'm sorry Bryan.." Echo said while crying into my chest.

She wrapped her arms around me and held onto my shirt.

"Now please.. Tell me why you're so upset.." I said with a shaky voice.

"I.. I had a dream.. Wait-no.. A nightmare.. And..And-" She stopped talking and started crying again.

I stroked her hair and kissed the top of her head. "Shhh.. It's okay Echo.. Continue with what you were saying.." I said in a soft voice.

"I had a nightmare.. And.. It included my father.. Who killed my mother and abused me for most of my life.." She said and hugged me tightly and started crying again.

I put my hand on the back of her head and said, "Relax.. It's okay.. It was just a nightmare.. Your father is gone and if he ever does come back, I WILL protect you.." I said.

"You promise..?" Echo asked quietly.

"I promise." I replied.

Then Echo stopped crying but still hugged me tightly.

"Echo, I promise that I will never let anything like that happen to you ever again.." I said.

"Thank you so much Bryan.. I have no clue what I would do without you in my life.." Echo replied.

I smiled when she said that.

Then I took my hand and tilted her head up, looked her in the eyes, and kissed her softly.
