a girl gets a book from the library which had little notes and highlighted certain sentences and she wants to know who it is because they become infatuated with the side notes. she goes through the list of people who checked out the book to find out who the person is.
the person who wrote the notes basically wrote what they were thinking about the text and the girl was interested in it because it was interesting what they said and what they highlighted.
