where character one has an imaginary friend (which is character two). they meet when they are young kids and then grow up together. they end up liking each other and they're like best friends bc character one is super shy / likes to keep to their self and doesn't really talk to anyone else.
so character two is actually a ghost and character one finds out bc they did research on character two. character two died when they were younger so they grow up at the same pace (idek if ghosts can actually do that lol but emphasis on fiction in fan fiction). at first, character one thought character two was just a figment of their imagination but then they find out.
