Is it weird that he still hasn't let go of my hand? And that I like it?
...........................................................................I swear we just stared at each other for hours. That was until...
"Ehhem." Lacey coughed.
Luke and I unhoocked our hands a turned to look at her smirking face. If this moment doesn't scream awkward, I don't know what does. Thankfully the bell rang for first period. We had ten mintues before and after each period so Lacey and I took a look at Luke's schedule and saw that we all have History and Music together, Lacey has Science with him, and Luke and I have our first period, Math, together..
Luke and I started walking towards the math building as Lacey headed off in the other direction for Science. When we entered in the correct room the teacher, known as Mr. Lancaster, told us we could sit anywhere we pleased. Considering we came to class with still seven minutes to spare, there were plenty of seats to choose from.
We decided upon the second row from the front of the room and the two seats closets to the entry door.
Up on the white board in front of us was a list of extra supplies we would be needing for the class which I immediately started writing down.
OK...
•three ring binder
•graph paper
•highlighters
•2 graph notebooks
•black pensSoon enough, more people pile into the classroom and the lesson begins. Mr. Lancaster started off by telling us his name and other short names that we may call him like Mr. L, and how much fun this class will be. Obviously everyone thinks differently. As he went over the list on the board, that I already copied down, I notice Luke reaching over and setting acrumpled paper ball in my lap.
I kept it under the table so no one would notice and uncrumpled it, instantly noticing the messy handwriting.
Meet me in the band room at break.
-LukeI turned my head but only saw him tentively listening to Mr. Lancaster's opening statement. I nudged his arm with my elbow and showed the crumpled piece of paper to him. In return he gave me a smile and turned his attention back to Mr. Lancaster, leaving me very confused.
As the class went on I thought about what Luke could possibly whant to show or talk to me about and quicker than I expected, the fifty-five minutes were up and we were on our way to our next class, History.
As we entered the room, we noticed Lacey with two saved seats on her left. I sat next to Lacey with Luke on my left. The class went the same as last period. Teachers name, extra supplies, rules and guidelines, and how this year is going to be "super fun". Once the bell rang I began packing up my pencils and paper when someone tapped my shoulder. I looked up to see Luke.
"Remember, band room." And with that he walked out of the room.
"Hey, you ready. I'm starving and it's only second period." Lacey said after Luke walked away.
"Uh yah sure. I'll meet you out there. You go get something to eat and I am gonna go check out the band room."
"Ok, sounds good."
We walked out of the classroom and as she headed for the vending machines I made my way across campus to the band room. When I walked through the door i noticed all the lights were off. Maybe Luke wasn't here yet. I turned the lights on and screamed when I saw Luke sitting in a black swivel chair staring straight at me.
"Luke! What the hell is wrong with you! I've only known you for a few hours and your already trying to give me a heart attack!" I yelled as he bent over in laughter.
"I'm sorry. I was trying to make it like a spy movie."
"Well you did great. You scared the shit out of me."
"Yah I could tell."
"Whatever what did you need to tell me?"
"I wanted to get to know you."
Awww, how sweet."That's sweet Luke, but I told Lacey I would meet her after I "checked out the band room"." I said putting air quotes around "checked out the band room".
"Then how about over lunch. I know this really great diner." He nervously reached up to scratch the back of his neck.
"Luke, are you asking me on a date?" I said smirking.
"I guess you could call it that." He said looking down at his shoes.
"That sounds really nice. How about Saturday."
"Perfect. I'll pick you up at noon."
I quickly wrote down my address and number and said goodbye, making my way back to Lacey. The whole way back to the quad area I couldn't stop smiling. Lacey happened to notice this as well. I walked to our usual spot in the shade with a wierd look from Lacey burning a whole right through me.
"Ok what happened, and tell me right now."
"I may or may not being going out on a date with Luke on Saturday." I said giggling as she shrieked.
"Oh my god! That's awesome Mans. You have to tell me everything, we have to find the perfect outfit, I have to come up with a ship name! Oh my there is so much to do."
"Woah Lace calm down, it just a lunch date. Nothing crazy. I don't need a perfect outfit. And really a ship name?"
"Yes Mans, a ship name. I am so coming over before to help. And promise me you will tell me everything that happens."
"Alright, alright I promise." I said laughing. I mean yah I was happy, maybe a little excited *wink wink* but she needs to calm down.
As she explaining her "vision" of Luke's and my future, I got myself back on the topic of how I barely even know Luke. Maybe we will play 20 questions or something.
Again, is it weird that I'm enjoying this?
