Chapter 2 ~ Bitches, boybands and badass breakouts

Finally, after what was probably the most uncomfortable flight of my life, we have arrived at our hotel, which looks about as luxurous as the toilets at our school. The plane left very early in the morning, and we had to be there two hours before boarding, so the time I had to get up out of bed was inhuman.

The entire flight, I had to sit between these two 12 year old kids who talked to each other about stupid video games all the time, but when I asked them if they wanted to switch, they wouldn't. The only time they stopped talking for a while, was when one started to actually play the video game on a nintendo, ofcourse with the volume completely up, and the other one wanted to take a nap and fell asleep on my shoulder. Amazing.

I'm not going to even talk about the bus ride to the hotel, which is situated suburban, because it's just too depressing.

Now the group is gathered in the lobby of the hotel, and the overenthusiastic monitors are ready to divide us in rooms. I look around if there is anyone I would want to be in the room with or even has my age. I spot two girls that must be sixteen too and look as displeased to be here as I am. One is dressed like she just came back from the stripclub, with banana yellow hair, tons of make-up and clothes that barely cover the parts that, well, need to be covered. The other one looks a little better, but not much, with brown hair that could have been pretty if she had left it natural, but completely ruined it by trying to straithen it. She looks like a poodle.

I want to look further to see if there are any other people of my age  when I notice the banana has spotted me. She whispers something to her friend and then walks over to me, shaking her booty. She stops right in front of me, looks at me up and down, then smiles.

'Nice shirt.' Oh. I had expected something different from her.

I look down at my clothes. I had decided to wear something really comfortable this morning for the journey, so I went for my favourite dark green vans, a comfy pair of jeans and a grey shirt that said One Direction For Life.

'Thanks. Are you a fan of 1D too?' I ask surprised.

'Yes I'm a huge fan. Their biggest fan actually. That's why I would really appreciate it if you don't wear that shirt anymore.'

Wait what.

'I don't like sharing my boys with nerds like you. So just leave them alone, okay? They're mine. Also, you might or might not know that they are in the city and they will probably be walking around there tonight. Me and Mackenzie are sneaking out tonight to find them. Don't you even think about sneaking out to. They aren't interested anyway in meeting a loser like you.'

What the heck?!?! Is she crazy? I can't  say anything for a few seconds, that's how disgusted I am. I'm just about to tell her to fuck off, when she starts to smile widely and squeals:

'By the way, my name is Deedee. So nice to meet you!'

I'm trying to maintain the urge to slap her in the face for being so confusing when I notice a monitor coming our way smiling. Oh, so that's how she is going to play it, huh? That bitch.

Deedee walks away immediately, tugging Mackenzie, who hasn't said anything the whole time, behind her by her hand. I didn't even get time to answer.

A second later, the monitor starts rambling to me about how nice those girls seem to be and how nice I seem to be and how wonderful life is and that I have to go to the room were the activities are going to be organised, after giving me a sticker with my name on it to stick on my shirt. I go to the room, I listen to what the monitors have to say, I hear that I am going to share a room with Deedee and Mackenzie and a girl named Maura and I jump out a window. I literally crawl on the windowsill and jump. Unfortunately, we're still on the ground floor, so I just land rather hard on by bum and sit there for a second, thinking about how I'm going to explain this without looking even more crazy. I end up crawling back inside through the window and laughing a bit weird, saying it was a joke and adding an awkward haha at the end. The entire room ofcourse stares at me in death silence. Only one girl is silently laughing and secretly smiles at me, a sticker that says "Maura" sticked at the side of her The Vamps-shirt.

The food is disgusting, the lessons are boring, the toilets and showers on the hall are gross and every bit of positivity I had is gone. Whilst everyone is getting ready to go to sleep, ( Bedtime at 9. Ofcourse.) I just sit on my bed and text Grace and my mom. I have the top bunk and Maura sleeps under me and at the other side of the room, Mackenzie sleeps on top and Deedee underneath. I haven't said a word to anyone, except to Maura, with who I chatted a bit in the line for the shower. She was shy but really friendly and encouraged me to ignore the stupid girls of our room. I had the idea she has had her portion of their bitchyness too.

Deedee is packing a huge bag with all the essentials she will need for her little trip to the city and Mackenzie is doing her hair, trying to straighten it again, wich only makes it worse. No way in hell am I going to let them tell me what to do. I am going to stand up against them, one way or another (yeh). So I started little, by singing that exact song, because I know it will piss Deedee of if I sing One Direction.

'One way, or another, I'm gonna find ya, I'm gonna getcha getcha getcha getcha...'

Deedee immediately snaps her head up at me, looking at me as if she's ready to kill.

'Are you testing me?'

'IIIIIIIII WIIIIIIL DRIVE PAST YOUR HOOOUUUUSE' I continue a lot louder.

'If you don't shut up right now I swear I'll...'

'You can't tell me what to do, Deedee.' I said, but I did shut up, seeing Maura looked as if she was about to cry. I think she is so scared of Deedee that she already gets nervous when she bitches to others.

The room goes back to a loaded silence whilst everybody gets ready for whatever they are going to do this night. I have thought about telling one of the monitors about Deedee and Mackenzie sneaking out, but that means I can't get out either. And I'm sure as hell not going to stay here.

In the dark of the room, hidden under my blanket, I search up info about the city and taxis. (Thank god there is at least free WiFi) I find a taxi company I can afford. They can come and pick me up in front of the hotel at 10:30 and drop me in the city and they will be back at the spot they are going to drop me at midnight. I also read that today there was a lot of celebrating since the city existed so many years or something, and that tonight all the shops would stay open till three, which is amazing, even though I don't have a lot of money to spend.

My bag is packed and I still have my clothes on, just with a black hoodie over my One Direction shirt. At 9:30, the light in the hall goes out. At 10 o'clock, I hear Deedee and Mackenzie sneak out onto the hallway. At 10:20, it's my turn. I crawl out of the bed as silent as possible and wake Maura to tell her about my plans. I don't want her to wake up in an empty room and freak out. She says she can trust me and I believe her. She wishes me good luck and then I'm off.

The hallway is empty and there is also no-one on the stairs. When I reach the lobby, I walk by as confident as I can to make it look like this isn't forbidden. The lady at the desk looks confused but also tired and she doesn't say anything. In five minutes total, I'm out the building.

It has been burning hot all day, but as soon as I'm outside, the cold air hits me. I put my hood on and I put my hands in the pocket of my sweater and then, the only thing I can do is wait for the taxi to come and take me to freedom.
