This city is amazing! There are bright lights everywhere, the air seems to be a lot warmer than outside the hotel in a nice way, every street has something special, the huge crowd buzzes from laughter and talking and the smell of food just tops it all of. I try a few typical Spanish dishes that are sold in stands on the street, making sure I still have enough money left for the taxi back, and they are all delicious. And the people are so beautiful, with their tanned skin and dark hair and pearly teeth. I'm starting to appreciate Spain a lot more since seeing this side of it.
The ride to the centre of the city took the taxi about half an hour, too long to do walking, so I have to be sure I'm on time on the appointment at midnight, since it is the last taxi driving, or else I have a big problem. But this city full of laughter and fun just makes it impossible to be worried. I still have an hour anyway. I walk in a huge Zara, but it's so busy in there that I am out again in five minutes.
I have just stepped out of the store, sniffling the smell of more food, when someone who came running from the other side smashes straight into me.
I fly to the back and land hard on my right side, smashing my head against the pavement. The blow hit me so hard I have to stay on the ground for a few seconds, trying to stay conscious and focusing on the other person.
It is a boy or a man, I can't really see, since he has a black hoodie like me on with the hood pulled up and a pair of sunglasses covering his eyes. Darkbrown curly hair comes peeking out of his hood in all directions. He has kind of awkwardly fallen on his bum by the blow but stands up again in a second, cursing the entire time. I almost have to look straight up, that's how tall he is.
Well, that may also have something to do with me still laying flat on the floor.
In the few seconds that I have the chance to look at him whilst trying to stay awake, I can't shake of the thought that I know him from somewhere. You can't know him, Lola, you're in a random city in Spain! The only people you know here are Deedee and Mackenzie, and he sure as hell does not look like them.
He is looking at me too now, ruching over to me whilst still cursing and looking around nervously. He bends down next to me and places his hands under my arm pits to pull me up so I'm now sitting.
'I'm so sorry, love, are you allright? Can you get up?'
That voice. I know that voice.
Instead of just answering his pretty simple question, I say:
'Why in such a hurry, dude? Can't we just chill on the ground for a little longer? Ya know, get to know each other?'
I'm starting to think I may have some serious brain damage.
The boy smiles, showing off his adorable dimples, making me think I'm going to faint again.
'I would love to, but I'm kinda in a hurry.'
He looks like he is going to add something to that when I hear screaming coming from the distance, getting louder and louder. Both our heads turn in the direction of the screaming, the boy getting tense again. What is happening? Is there an ambulance on the way?
'Can you stand?' He asks with a hint of panic in his voice.
'I think so.' I finally answer.
He now pulls me up completely, still by my armpits, letting me go when I'm on my feet again. I stand for a second, then my head turns all cloudy, I feel dizzy and I fall forward against his chest. He immediately wraps his arms around me, keeping me on my feet.
At that moment in what seems to be a crisis situation, all my well-educated brain can think of is:
1. So he's really that tall. Wauw.
2. He's so strong! I feel like a feather when he holds me!
3. Goddamnit he smells good.
Man up Lola, this is not a moment for drooling over a stranger.
'That didn't go very well. Just try to keep up with me, okay?' He whispers in my ear, holding me up with one arm around my back and walking back to the shop, almost carrying me. The screaming had gotten very close now so I turned my head to peek over a shoulder for a second, when I see a huge crowd a bit further down the street coming our way very quickly.
'O my goodness...' I whisper shocked, causing the boy to look too. He quickly picks up the pace, dragging me in the Zara. We must look funny, but people don't really notice us since it's so busy and they are going to the exit to see what's happening outside. We just go deeper in the store to the back where the fitting rooms are. The boy drags me all the way to the last fitting room, where he places me down on a chair and closes the curtain. Well this is cosy.
'What's going on.' I mumble, still feeling a bit dizzy. I feel a massive headache coming up.
'I don't know, I guess I wasn't careful enough, so this girl with weird banana hair suddenly spotted me and started screeching like crazy. They were with so many all of a sudden, I had to run for my life.'
He smiles when he sees my confused face, showing off the most adorable dimples ever. He takes of his sunglasses and hood and suddenly, I'm staring at the beautiful face of the one and only...
'Now we can finally get to know each other! Hi, I'm Harry Styles.'
Then, I finally faint.
