Prologue
"Nadine, Why don't we go to the bar?" Tanong ni Diego.
"Alam mo na, Let's celebrate!" Dagdag pa niya.
He's Diego Loyzaga. And siya ang room mate ko. He's very outgoing and in fact, he loves partying.
"I don't think that's a good idea. Bukas na yung first day ko sa trabaho." Sagot 'ko.
If you base on looks, He's your typical badass looking guy but the "handsome nerd" every time he wears glasses every girl is dreaming of. He's got that illegal looks and seductive accent to match it with, of course alam 'ko. I'm not blind, sa totoo lang kung hindi lang talaga siya ang pinakamatalik kong kaibigan I might have fallen for him.
He's very charming at mahirap siyang tanggihan, mind you.
"Sige na, Nadine. It's Thursday. Happy T, Ayaw mo? Let's enjoy the night." Pagpilit niya.
"Hindi talaga pwede, Hmm. How about tomorrow? After work." Sagot 'ko para hindi siya mainis. "If I don't get fired the same day as my first day of work, Magcecelerate talaga tayo!" I added.
"Hm. Sige na nga. Deal! Walang bawian yan Nadine ah."
"Sure. Promise."
"Anyway, I learned a new recipe, do you want to cook for you? Test mo nadin ung lasa. Magluluto ako ngayon." sabi ni Diego.
"Uhh, ikaw ang bahala. Lalabas lang ako. Save some for me kung may matira pa para sakin." Pagpapaalam ko para makaiwas sa usapang pagluluto.
Diego loves cooking eh, but I don't think cooking itself loves Diego. Hindi siya masarap magluto but its his passion to cook and try out different recipes.
Lumabas agad ako and I took the elevator located on the first floor. Ngumiti sakin ang doorman. This is going to be a day. Naglakad lakad lang ako saglit, checking out the place.
It's really good to be living here in Makati. Malapit sa lugar kung saan ako magtatrabaho, and this place is amazing.
Malayo nga lang sa hometown 'ko. I'm from South. Las Piñas to be exact pero matagal ko na talagang gustong dito magtrabaho. I'm from South but chose to work here and to live here aparantly.
Without Diego hindi ko nga lang alam kung saan ako pupulutin, I'm thankful he's with me and hindi ko rin naman alam kung kakayanin ko magisa dito sa malaking apartment na 'to, panigurado malungkot yun.
At isa pa magastos magisa, mas mahal pa yata 'tong buwanan ng apartment namin sa kita ng ibang tao sa isang taon.
I hope I could easily blend in sa lugar na to, specially to where I'm going to be working. I have the address, I got the job already. I just hope I don't screw up on my first day of work.

I made it in time. Nakarating ako kahit na ang daming distractions along the way. There are a lot of beautiful buildings and Jesus Christ those expensive cars. Abot tenga ang ngiti 'ko.
This is it, Start of a new life. Here is where i will officially begin my independent life. Simula bukas, I will become an assistant of Joseph Marco of Asphire, Isa sa mga pinaka prominenteng advertising agency sa Makati. My megafinancer who also happened to be my step father, Richard Lustre. Hindi niya nagustuhang I took the job, Well ayoko naman kasing mag work sa kakilala niya. Isa pa ayokong gumamit ng connection.
"Ang tigas talaga ng ulo mo, Nadine." I remember him telling me.
Ang sakin lang naman, mas nakakaproud makakuha ng trabaho kung walang tulong nila o kung sino pang kakilala.
Sobrang pointless makipagaway sa kaniya dahil ayaw niya sa naging desisyon 'ko at makakapagod makipagtalo sa kaniya.
But yet, one monday morning. I was really happy at hindi ko pinagsisisihan ang desisyon 'ko.
Nakarating ako sa Crossfire building which house Asphire in less than 30 minutes.
