Nandini
“Amms, we'll miss you. Isn't there any way I can avoid going to Mumbai?” I said with red eyes.
“Nandu,” my Amma said to me in her typical South Indian accent, “You should really not talk like that. You're going to a great college in Mumbai.” She kept her hand on my head, and said, “I will call you daily, okay? Now wipe these tears. It is not good to cry while leaving for something big. And your Chacha and Chachi will be there with you. So what's the point of all the tears?”
She then kept her other hand on Rishab, my younger brother's head and said, “God bless both of you.”
Rishab wasn't crying, but he wasn't smiling either. We both looked at each other, and then tightly hugged her, just like a Koala bear hugs a tree.
I decided to go back into my room again. I looked at the last family photo I had with my parents, and asked them for their blessings.
I know I was just going to a college in some other state. But leaving everything I have here, and knowing that I wouldn't see my room again for at least six months made me pretty emotional.
“Nandu, time to go.” I hear Amma calling me.

"May I have your kind attention, please? Boarding for the passengers boarding the flight WTD18 is open. Thank you."
"Oh, it's time to leave. Bye Nandu and Rishab. Take good care of yourself. And Nandu, did you keep your tickets? What about your both identity proofs? Oh god Nandu, I am sure you forgot to note down the number of the car your Chacha and Chachi will co---" Amms spoke in her usual hurried and worried voice.
Oh, she looks so cute when she cares for us so much. I cut her and said, "Ya Amms, we have kept our tickets, identity proofs, something to eat, money, Rishab's pills and everything else we need." I stated as I noticed a small smile on her as well as on my face.
"Bye." she said. Though she was pretending to be happy, I know that she was crying from inside. After all, she is my grandmother. But after the death of my parents, she was the only one we both could rely on since Chacha and Chachi, I mean my uncle and aunt used to and are still living in Mumbai.
"Bye." I said and Rishab gestured a bye to Amms. We three hugged and I and Rishab went to the security check up inside the Mangalore Airport. Oh how I wished Amms would stop me! I really didn't wanted to go. But no, Amms wanted me to go and complete my studies from a good college.
We both stood last in the boarding line with me with my fireflies in my hand when a guy almost bumped into me! My fireflies were about to fall down when he held them and they glowed. (A/N - Sorry, I couldn't really delete this fireflies' scene.)
I couldn't see him and I am sure that even he didn't see me.
How can people be so careless? Don't they even know how to walk!
And then, without even saying a sorry, he just left.
Attitude!
Ugh!
But hey, this was just one person. But I am sure to find many of his kinds in Mumbai.
Aio appa! How will we even live there?
Then finally the line moved forward when a guy with a cute cap and soberness on his face came and stood next to me in the que.
He then shouted, "Buddy! You are going the wrong way!"
I was too lost in cursing that guy to turn around to see who 'buddy' was. Then, I heard a male, strong voice, "Buddy! My private jet is here. No need to travel by that flight."
This voice is so amazing.
Huh? Dearest brain, don't yoy think too much?
Soon the cute guy who was standing behind me left the line and went in the devilishly awesome voice's direction.
The line was soon moving forward and we finally got our boarding passes.
After all the security check up and all the important airport stuff, we both sat on our seats inside out flight to Mumbai.
I sat towards the aisle and Rishab sat next to me.
I flight is now taking off.
I hope this flight to Mumbai would be the flight to my dreams, my wishes and everyone's happiness. I hope this flight brings nothing but joy to our lives. I hope Mumbai would not be so rude to me as I expects it to be. I hope in Mumbai, we could figure out Rishab's problem.
