‘Hey Diana. Wait up!!’
‘Eurgh what??’
Diana was heading to her boring history class when Michael called her and made her stop in her tracks. She turned around with an annoyed expression.
‘Hey where are you going?’
‘Michael you still don’t know my schedule?’
‘Uh yeah history?’
Diana looked up at him with pity. Michael was nothing like Zayn who she loved. Michael was blonde, skinny and plain stupid. How could he ask her that question if he already knew the answer?
‘Duh!’ Diana said agitatedly and turned around.
She began striding towards her class. She was a popular girl in school who every guy wanted to be with. She was brunette with beautiful wavy hair which came up to the middle of her back. She had light brown eyes which almost looked hazel, and she was tall and curvy. She might be the most wanted girl in the school but she did not find any guy attractive in that building. There were many brunette boys but they did not have hair up in quiff. There were tall boys but they were skinny. There were boys with hazel eyes but unnoticeable eyelashes. There were smart boys but they were nerdy looking. There were smart and handsome boys who sucked at singing. There were smart and handsome guys with good voices but they just either were not straight or they lacked some other things. So basically, Diana had to judge every guy with that one international pop star whom she was irrevocably in love with. And since no two human beings can be exactly alike, not even twins, there was no other guy who was like Zayn Malik besides Zayn himself. Diana pitied every guy in her school because nobody fulfilled her criteria of being a full package.
Diana entered the class and sat next to her best friend at the back. Liz was beautiful with straight light brown hair up to her shoulders. She was an inch shorter than Diana but was as curvy. However, if the two were judged, Diana was better looking than Liz.
‘Do you have any idea how ANNOYING these school boys are?’
Liz began laughing, earning herself a death glare from Diana. This was not the first time Diana had said that. In fact, she says the same thing almost every day.
‘Diana, I wouldn’t blame those poor boys. You are just so irresistible for them.’ She continued laughing.
‘But they are very stupid. Can’t they just stop chasing me already?’
‘Well you know what? Your expectations are way too high. He is not single and he is not here. You are an ordinary person whereas he is an internationally acclaimed pop star. And…’
‘And you cannot put together two totally different things such as fire and water because that will not work out. I know that. You don’t have to repeat that every day.’ Diana replied totally frustrated.
‘Well you don’t have to blame the poor boys every single day either!’ Liz argued. Diana grunted and considered the fact that she was probably overreacting. However, she still thought that the boys were extremely annoying.
History went by slowly and boringly. Diana was already out the door as soon as the bell rang. Liz had to run to catch up with her.
‘Guess what Diana?’
Diana nodded for Liz to continue.
‘Trevor’s throwing a party this Saturday.’
‘I am sorry. I have some things to do.’ Diana replied quickly.
‘Of course!’ Liz seemed mad. After all, the party was being thrown by her beloved boyfriend but Diana dreaded those parties. Parties meant dancing and spending more time with the guys who did not look like that Malik boy.
‘Sorry don’t be mad. I was only kidding.’ Liz smirked. She knew Diana hated those parties but she could make Diana do anything if she acts mad.
They headed to their next class which was math. Liz was exceptionally good at math and always helped Diana with it. They were all working on a project in groups of five. Diana and Liz sat with their close friends Kate, Hannah and Victoria. Within a few minutes in the conversation, Diana zoned out.
‘Diana!’ Victoria yelled causing Diana to jump.
‘Ms. Lopez. Keep your voice down!’ The teacher exclaimed from the front of the class.
‘Oops sorry! Diana what’s wrong with you?!’ Victoria hissed. She hates when she is talking and somebody is zoned out.
‘Huh? Oh uh… I was ummm… just… nothing!’ She looked around the table and everybody had their eyebrows raised, waiting for an explanation.
‘Well you know I have always wanted to kiss Zayn. His lips seem so juicy and it hurts to know that I might never EVER get to feel them on mine.’
Everybody seemed to understand her. Not only was Zayn Diana’s favorite, but theirs’ too. However, they were all more rational than Diana and understood the likelihood of never being able to be with the pop star. But Hannah had something else in mind.
