"Pearl," (Y/N) whispered. Her voice was quiet, but had an edge to it. It was evident how unhappy she was with the situation, but there seemed to be nothing that she could do about it. "Please, Pearl listen to me, if you do this, you'll die for sure. That planet is worthless, and dangerous. You have no reason to be fighting for it!" She cried out. Her usual calm, but mighty voice quaked and shook.

"Rose doesn't think it's worthless, and neither do I," Pearl managed to keep a moderately calm tone as she spoke, but that did nothing to mask her hurt. "I wish you would be more supportive of my decisions."

(Y/N) tensed up, clenching her fists and saying, "Well I would be more supportive if you weren't deciding to start a literal war !" Tears threatened to spill over the angry gems eyes, but she fought them back. "I can't believe you! You don't even like Earth! I know because you always told me about how much you hated it there! You used to tell me these things Pearl!" She covered her mouth for a second, choking back a small sob.

"(Y/N), I didn't- I never knew- I didn't think-" Pearl stopped, trying to figure out what to say. (Y/N) had a point, Pearl had hardly talked to her anymore. "Rose and I are going to stay, and fight for that planet no matter what. I'm sorry, (Y/N)." The silence was short lived but bitter. "You can join us, (Y/N). I'm sure Rose would-"

"I don't care what Rose would do!" (Y/N) shouted, ignoring the hot tears that she had forgotten to push back. "Have fun dying out there, Pearl! Have fun fucking dying just because of your stupid crush! Have fun seeing me on the battlefield! Have fun watching what you've done play out in front of you! Have fun finding my broken gem shards out there! Really, I hope you enjoy that! " She screamed. Pearl was too stunned at her outburst to speak, and took a while to collect herself before speaking again.

"If that's how you feel..." Pearl said softly.

(Y/N) wiped away her tears and turned around. "I wish you had never met her." Without another word, she left. All she could think of as she stomped through the corridors was the rose emblem on Pearls shirt. It was in the same place that (Y/N)'s own diamond emblem was stitched.

The war had long since passed, but (Y/N)'s bitter emotions about it had not. The war was brutal, cold, and unforgiving. (Y/N) had luckily never seen the heat of battle, but many other (Y/N)'s had, nearly eradicating them. (Y/N) knew for a fact that the first shard of her kind that Pearl found, she'd assume to be hers. Thankfully, she had not been that first gem shard. Nor was she the second. Nor the third. In fact, after the war, her production line had stopped entirely. Withing a matter of years, her career under the diamond authority had advanced, quite a lot. Soon she found herself to be the last of her kind, a lonely fate, but a lucky one none the less.

"Lieutenant General (Y/N), we have news from Earth!" A Peridot said, running to her.

"Is it about the cluster? Because if it isn't information about the cluster it's useless to me right now, and-" She grumbled, before being cut off.

"It's about the Crystal Gems!"

Crystal Gems. She's gotta be kidding. (Y/N) turned to look at the Peridot. "What information could you possibly have? The must have died off by now." She mumbled.

"Apparently, there's still some left! An Amethyst, a fusion and a-"

"Stop. I'll invest in a ship and a few service gems to assist me. Thank you for the notice Peridot." She stood up. "Crystal Gems..." The words rolled off her tongue, sour and hate filled. She wouldn't let another war happen, just because she was careless enough to let a few gems live. Not again.
