Your P.O.V-
You jumped off the couch and into the kitchen. Your lusu- father and Cass were sitting at the table. "Goodmorning sweetie!" Your dad called out to you as you scrambled to get a bowl of (favourite cereal) "Morning dad! Morning Cass." You tried to sound as cheerful as you could be. You had your flip flops and favourite bikini top on, plus some shorts. "I can't stay long, I have something important to do." You slammed spoonfuls of [favourite cereal] into your mouth as fast as you could. Cass perked up, and grinned. "Is it a boy?" You shot her daggers. You ran over to your dad and gave him a peck on the cheek. "I'll be back by dinner. Have a good day!" You didn't bother to answer Cass's question. OF COURSE it was a boy. More or less, an alien fish boy. A pretty cute alien fish boy. You smiled to yourself as you ran out the back door to wards the ocean. You took off your sandals and shorts, slipping into the cool water, allowing your legs to turn into their shiny (f/c) tail form. You smiled brightly and took off. You skimmed the top of the top of the surface, looking up into the sky. You swam back to the island, as giggly as ever. You swam to the shore and knocked on the ship. "Eridan!! It's [Y/N] again!! I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out today?" You waited a minute. No response, only a few muffled noises. You knocked again. "Er-Eridan? Are you ok?" More muffled noises. They sounded like sobs. "Eridan, I.... I'm coming in.... Ok?" No response. You let yourself in the massive ship, and walked around the giant vessel.
Eridan's P.O.V-
Shit shit shit shit shit SHIT no no no no [Y/N] this is not a good time at all. I wrapped myself in my cape and scarf. Fef was... gone. She didn't have the same feelins I did, she didn't even have pale feelins for me. I feel terrible. I wish I wasn't the way I am... No, [Y/N] please, today is not a good day to hang out. I stand up and wipe away the light purple tears streaming down my face. I can't let [Y/N] see me like this. Not over a silly girl. I heard her walking through my hive. "[Y]-[Y/N]... I'm up here...." my voice cracked. I sounded weak and helpless, exactly how I felt. I saw her walk down the hall towards my room, and I had to force myself not to cry anymore than I already had. She entered my room, and my lower lip quivered. No, Eridan, don't you dare cry.... Don't you dare... "Eridan? Is everything ok...?" fuck.
Your P.O.V-
"Eridan? Is everything ok...?" You walked into the doorway, entering the room. Eridan was sitting in a corner, wrapped in his cape and scarf. He ran up to you, hugged you tight and started crying. You were surprised by the sudden gesture and burst of sadness, but you hugged him back. "Eridan, what's wrong?" He muffled something into your shoulder. You stroked his hair gently, trying to calm him down. "Shhh.... It's ok.... I've got you now.... Everything is alright...." You continued to pet his hair gently. Eridan pulled his face away from your shoulder, pale violet tears still dripping down his grey cheeks. Looking at him so upset made you upset. "Eridan... do you wanna talk?" He nodded and sniffed. You took his hand and he lead you to his desk, pulling up an extra chair for himself. You sat in the desk chair and looked at his tear stained face. "Ok.... Tell me what's wrong. I won't tell anyone. I swear on my life." Eridan looked at you. "You... promise?" You nodded and gave a sheepish smile. He told you of his friend Feferi, and how they were very close, but she didn't want to be his friend, "moirail" as he called it, anymore, so she broke it off with him, but it was the same day he was going to tell her he had "red" feelings for her. The way he started crying and sniffling while telling you about it, you could tell it was very important to him. He started talking about his other friends, Vriska, Sollux, and a few others. Each time he told a new story, it would make him cry harder having to go back into the memories of them. You looked at him. His eyes were puffy, and his cheeks were stained with tears. "Eridan, can I tell you something?" He nodded. "I used to have a huge crush on this kid.... Dave, his name was. He was a real 'cool kid'. Apparently he thought he was too cool for anyone. We were such good friends. He was basically like a brother to me, and then it all just.... stopped. He started to ignore me. He wouldn't talk to me. He wouldn't even look at me. He didn't acknowledge I existed anymore. I was just another background character in his life story. He meant everything to me. I had a terrible crush on him, yes, and I mean it was terrible." You paused and gulped. Eridan was listening intently, so you continued. "All I could think about was his perfect face, and perfect personality, perfect everything. He was my everything, but I was apparently just a toy to him. So he left me. He outgrew me. He outgrew our friendship. And I had to let him go. I spent nearly two weeks crying over him. But I learned that there are other people. There are more people out there. And it takes a long to find the right one. I thought I had found the right one, but I guess I hadn't. You can't take it too hard, because it will happen more than once until you find that one person that makes you feel like you mean something. Like you have worth. I thought I had that. But I clearly didn't. So now I wait for that person." Tears brimmed your eyes. Eridan had stopped crying, but was still sniffling and wiping away his tears. You wiped your eyes. You weren't gonna cry. Not in frount of Eridan. Not over something you had worked so hard to get over. "[Y/N].... I'm so sorry.... Your friendship problem makes mine look stupid and childish." 'No no, E don't say that. Your problem is 100 percent valid, and you have every right to feel bad about it. Just know that it may be for the best, and you will one day find someone who makes you feel like you're always on a cloud of happiness." You gave him a hopeful smile. "You... you think so, [Y/N]?" His fins perked up and his eyes shone. You nodded and gave him a strong smile this time. "If the morals I learned are correct, then I know so." Eridan sprung up and hugged you tightly. "Thank you [Y/N].... Thanks for listenin...." You hugged him back "I'm your friend. Listening is what friends are for." You smiled. "You're my friend? You... you really mean that?" His eyes shone. "I swear on my life that I do." You outstretched your arm and held out your pinky, to pinky promise. He looked t your hand and did the same. "Friends?" You asked and smiled at him. "Friends!" He entwined his pinky with yours and shook.
