My eyes meet every inch I could see of the forest. It wasn't a bright forest, only a few patches of sunlight pushed there way through the leaves above. I shifted my back against the closest tree. A few growls were thrown out here and there but they weren't in an exact spot. Only then I saw the bright yellow panther eyes shine through the darkness.
But it wasn't a panther. It had the face and fluffy neck of a wolf, the teeth of a saber tooth tiger, the eyes and silk body of a panther, the tail of a lion, and the legs of a cheetah. It stood tall but walking smoothly. Its body was two colors black and brown making it hard to see it along the darkness. I slid back in between the dry roots. The animals eyes became wider and started to pounce at me. But it wasn't the only one of its kind that was hungry.
Four more pushed there way to me. They were huge and not able to fit in between the roots. That didn't stop them from clawing there way to me. My legs pressed against my chest. I shut my eyes listening to the sound of there claws bang on the hard roots. My eyes pushed themselves open harshly knowing I need to get out of here. I looked around and finally looked up. A hollow tree?
I flung myself up making the creatures fling back but then come back for more. I put both feet on both walls of the tree. My hand traveled around the bark feeling for any thing I could hold on to. I made my way up gripping what ever lump my fingers could feel and hold on to. Below me I heard a few growls and then a crash of sticks. Looking down I saw bright eyes staring into mine and the scratching of its claws on the bark. My eyes widened even more.
I trudged up the tree climbing at a fast paste. I looked down once again but the creature wasn't even close to me. It was at the bottom. It tried once again to climb but the weight of it made it fumble to the ground again. It looked up and growled in defeat and left with the other four close by. I finished climbing to the top. I didn't want to met up with them again.
I rested my back on a branch to catch my breath but not soon after, falling asleep to different nosies calling to each other. I woke up with the feeling of a sharp, warm, heavy breath against my cheek. I lifted my head to a gorilla like monkey. It's tail was like a monkeys but the body was stiff and big like a gorilla. It looked like it could harm but its eyes said soft and kind.
I stuck out my hand seeing how it would react. Its eyes melted on my hand. Finally it looked at me and then took my hand in his rough but gentle fingers. My lips curved up on my cheeks. The creature looked at me in the eyes. His eyes were soft but in a matter of seconds turned frightened. My eyes as well turned that way when I heard the crashing and roaring.
It wasn't the crash that scaried me but the roar. It sounded big, close, and mad. That second the creature left me stranded wondering what was going to try to eat me next. I made my way around a couple branches and in a clear veiw of the forest. A big scaley beast. It had the face and fangs as a Snake but a body of a lizard. Like godzilla but more realistic.
My eyes were stuck on the teriffing creature. My wide eyes still looking at him I slowly backed up. I watched at its vinom ran down its fang ready to stike but the creature eyes widened and then closed followed by it flopping on the trees that were below it.
This place was crazy! Everything seemed to happened at once. What killed that beast? Was there something out there worst than that? Or was there another one of my kind?
