I find it easier to write in words, what my mouth can't say.
So I did exactly that. Each word, each sentence, each paragraph, tried to convey my feelings for this man I have had my eyes on for far too long.
'Dear Naruto-kun,' Just the act of writing his name sent a shiver up my spine. This man had me wrapped around his finger, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I wrote in cursive: each swirl and curve helped get my message through.
'Sincerly, your admirer, Hinata.' A pang of nervousness shot through me as I realized I was going to confess to him through a letter. Second doubts clouded my mind and paralyzed me from moving. My breath went on a race. It sunk in.
I was going to confess. I stopped in the middle of a hallway in the Hyuga house. I shook my head and paced forward. "I'm going to do this." I encouraged myself.
I stopped and headed back. "Who am I kidding? I can't."
I stopped and softly slapped my face. "Hinata Hyuga. You will do this." I quickly strutted to the door, then stopped halfway and rubbed my face with my free hand.
"Woah. So this is what conflicted love looks like." I turned, my cheeks pink from embarrassment and smiled at my sister.
"O-oh Hanabi? You saw that?" I rubbed my arm, hiding the envelop behind my back.
She smirked and stood up from her chair. "Just hurry up and mail that letter already. We all know you're in love with the man. It's a wonder how he hasn't figured it out yet."
"H-Hanabi!" I stopped before I got into a one-sided argument with this little Hyuga. I sighed and plopped myself down on the now unoccupied chair. I smacked the envelope on the table and put my face in my hands. "I'm just so conflicted Hanabi. I mean, all the single girls practically chase after him, what would make me so different..."
I heard Hanabi face-palm herself and I instantly looked up. "Hanabi, are you alright?"
She rolled her eyes and sighed. "Hinata. Have you ever thought about the fact that who wouldn't like you?"
My face grew hot. "H-Hanabi! That's not true!"
She got in my face and raised her voice, making me pull a bit away. My eyes widened from her words. "Hinata, you're such an idiot. You're the best, most beautiful person I know. You're sweet, caring, a great cook, selfless, and-" Her voice cracked and she looked down. "And, you're a very hard person to surpass." I saw a seldom tear slip down her cheek.
I reached out and wiped the tear from its existence. "Oh. Hanabi." I pulled her into a hug and stroked her hair. "You've already passed me."
We enjoyed each other's embrace till Hanabi pushed me away. "Yeah whatever. This changes nothing. Besides, keep your eye on the prize, woman. If you want, I can give the letter to Naruto. I might even go check out Konohamaru while I'm at it."
I laughed and gave her a grateful smile. "No, Hanabi. Arigatou, but this is something I need to do on my own."
She smirked and wiped a fake tear on her cheek. "My little Hinata is growing up."
I pinched her cheeks. "Oh, ha ha ha. Very funny Hanabi. Become a comedian why don't you?"
She rolled her eyes. "Is that sarcasm I hear, Hyuga?'
I rubbed my face. "Ino and Kiba are rubbing off on me."
"Sure." She started walking away, but not before adding. "Oh and I don't want to be an aunt yet, so please, hold it off till I am fifteen, kay?"
