KPOP ONE SHOTS: FLUFF {Hiatus}

Baby Goodnight- KiHyun (Monsta X)

"Shhh..." You hush quietly as you bounce your crying baby in your arms, her legs swinging over your hips. Your hair was messy and the black framed glasses resting on your nose kept falling off. She would not be quiet.

"God please, please go to sleep." You sigh as the crying continues and the same scream fills your ears for what seems like the hundredth time today. You pick up her pacifier but she refuses and spits it out, followed by a string of drool. Her face was tomato red, a difference between her usual pale, smiling one. The jet black hair that usually was combed nicely, was sticking out in a variety of directions. Another ear-piercing scream.

"Come on baby, you have got to quiet down," she sniffles and takes a breath, preparing for another deadly wail. You've spent the past three hours trying to help her, burp her, feed her, change her, and bounce her. Nothing was working and Kihyun wasn't going to be home until eleven tonight.

"Hey, listen to Umma, you really need to calm down okay?" You wish that he could get home from work earlier. Being a stay at home mom was a lot harder than you had expected.

"Oh! Should we all Appa?" You ask the crying baby in your arms who has no intention of stopping,"I will take that as a yes."

You dial Kihyun's number and as it rings, you silently pray that he answers. Every time the ring occurs, she cries harder and harder. "God please pick up."

After the second to last ring you almost hang up,"hey baby," his voice is a gift from god,"woah what is up with our little monkey? Is she okay?"

"Oh thank the lord you answered!" You stare  up at the ceiling mouthing thanks to the white paint.

"Is something wrong babe?" He asks concerned and you can hear him hastily get up and start to walk.

"Uh yes. Our 'little bundle of joy' has been," you are cut off by another cry,"screaming for the past three hours."

"Oh no! Can I talk to her?" He asks.
"Beware," you press the speaker button on your phone.

"Ah, hi my baby monkey!" He starts,"it's Appa. I'm here, Appa is here," her crying lessens to a whimper, her lip still quivering,"hey you stopped crying! Umma needs you to be quiet okay? She is trying very hard to make you happy. I'm sorry I can't be at home to play with you today sweetie, but tomorrow we can play all day, okay?"

You smile once her eyes stop watering and his voice is quiet. The room suddenly feels at peace for once.

"Now why is it that you are so magical? And I, as her mother, can't do anything?" You ask, taking your phone off speaker, rocking the now silent baby in your arms.

"Oh stop it, you are an amazing mother. Sometimes a girl needs her daddy. That's all."

"Speaking of, when will you be home? I miss you and obviously so does she." You say in a cute voice and he laughs.

"Ten minutes, if traffic is good." You can hear the smile in his voice and it causes you to do the same.

"Okay, see you soon." You hang up and throw your head back, sitting on the couch. Eventually he walks through the front door where you can almost feel a huge weight off your shoulders.

"There are my two beautiful girls," his bag drops to the hardwood floor by the door and he welcomes your now tired looking baby in his arms,"I'm so sorry," he mouths to you and you shake your head.

You both sit on the couch again where she finally falls asleep in his arms.
"I love you, even though I am am sweaty, hungry, tired, and annoyed, I still love you." Your smile is genuine and he leans in to kiss you instead of a response in words.

"I love you too," he responds as you pulls away from his pink lips,"and I promise not to work late again."
