Hide x Kaneki... (Tokyo Ghoul)

Chapter 1- I can't bring myself to tell him.

Kaneki's POV:

I looked down at this perfectly cooked roast, acting as if I was about to eat it. Only to avoid having a conversation with Hide, who was seated across from me. Why did I even agree to coming over, I've ignored him for weeks. Popping up at his door step so suddenly and for no reason whatsoever is kind of awkward. "So Kaneki,  ready to tell me why you've been ignoring me?" Hide broke the silence. I gulped hard. I didn't know what to say, I didn't truly know the reason myself. "I-I don't Kno-" hide slammed his hands on the table, frightening me with his aggressiveness.

"Don't give me that crap Kaneki, just tell me why you appeared so suddenly! Tell me what I did to make you ignore me for all that time!" I stared down at the meal Hide cooked, not knowing what to say. The only other time he'd been this angry was the time I didn't stand up for myself during one of the biggest beatings I'd ever had at school. "I... Felt bad for ignoring you.. That's why I'm here." Hide calmed down and sat back in his chair.

"And what did I do to deserve that?" He questioned.

I couldn't tell Hide that I was ignoring him to protect him for myself. I feel my eyes well up as I grab my chin, still looking away from Hide.

"I needed time to think, everything that's been going on lately is making me feel... Sick. Just a lot of stress is all." Hide sighed and stood from the table.

"You lied. I'm disappointed."

He took both plates to the kitchen and begun washing up. I did what I came here to do, I can leave now. I quickly stood from the table and bolted out the door. The real reason for me popping out of nowhere and seeing Hide today... was because I missed him. I miss him so very much.

I grew short of breath quickly, only 2 blocks from his house and I'm already puffed out. I decided to turn down a dark alley to catch my breath, which was probably a bad idea since ghouls cannibalise and stuff like that for fun.

I leaned myself against the alley wall and caught my breath. Just as I was about the make my exit, Hide bolted past me. I'm surprised he didn't see me in the alley. I decided to wait till Hide was outta sight before I stepped out from the alley. I was a few steps out from the alley till I was forcefully pulled back in by someone. They cover my mouth, disabling me from screaming for help.

"Bonjour, Kaneki-Kun."
