"Thanks for the pizza, Kyle." I told him.

He was standing by the front door, flashing a disarming grin. "My pleasure."

"Thanks for tutoring Sam." Jack told him, and gave him a fist bump.

"Alright! I'm off. I hope you'll do well in our exam on Monday. Good night, you two." Kyle bade, and left.

I closed the door shut and grinned. Jack was glaring at me.

"What?" I asked, and half-chuckled.

"You like him, Sam. The way you look at him... it's not the crush thing anymore. I can tell." he said.

"I know." I whispered.

"Come on. The Walking Dead is on." he announced, and climbed the long flight of stairs hurriedly while tugging me along.

5 minutes. I can do this.

I am currently taking the chemistry exam. While answering, I'm stealing glances at Kyle.

4 minutes. I answered the last question hastily and submitted my paper to Mr. Thomas.

"Miss Hiddleston. I am impressed. But are these answers correct?" he remarked, and put on his glasses.

Kyle stood up from his seat and passed his paper as well. "Of course, Mr. Thomas," he started, "I tutored her."

Mr. Thomas mumbled something I couldn't understand. He was checking my work. "Mmm. So far so good, Ms. Hiddleston. You'll probably get a B- in this exam."

"YES!" I exclaimed, "thank you!" I told Kyle. He chuckled, and left the classroom with me.

"You must've done well, Sam. I'm a proud tutor." he told me, and grinned.

I blushed. I finally aced the exam, and Kyle is satisfied! I felt great.

"Do you eat salmon?" he asked me out of the blue. "My mom's cooking salmon tonight."

"Salmon? Is it raw?" I asked.

He shook his head. "Cooked in butter."

"I would love to." I told him.

"Okay, I'll pick you up at 5 tonight. No dress codes in our house, if you're wondering, so feel free to wear anything you want." he said.

"Okay. I'll see you later." I replied, and went straight to homeroom.

*

"A date?" Jack exclaimed, his eyes blazing with curiosity.

"I guess? He didn't really imply it being a date."

"Sounds like it." he muttered. "Well, you must be really happy, aren't you?"

"Yes, and you're going shopping with me after class." I told him.

"Again? You only take me shopping whenever there's formal events you need to attend." he groaned, and rolled his eyes.

"Please, Jack? I really need your help." I pleaded.

"Fine. We'll use my car." he finally agreed, and exhaled.

*

"Maybe I'll just buy a dress. What do you think?" I asked him, while strolling along the stores.

"Up to you, my queen." he replied sarcastically, "We've been strolling for hours, and you only have 3 hours left. Oh, how about this one?"

I took the dress Jack held in his hand. It was a floral sundress, with laces around the bottom. "It's perfect, Jack." I told him, "and it's my size!"

"I just took it out from the rack randomly." he said, and shrugged.

"Come on! Let's go pay and head home."

"Finally." he said, and threw his hands up.

I took my hairbrush and started running it along my curls. My hair was parted in half, and is embellished with a big bow. I put a light amount of makeup; just a bit of blush and mascara. Suddenly, I heard the doorbell ring. My stomach churned in excitement.

I've never been on a date before. This is a first time.

"Sam!" Jack shouted from downstairs, "your boyfriend is here to pick you up."

I quickly took a last glance at my room and grabbed my purse. I headed downstairs. Jack was playing Call of Duty in the living room. "He's not my boyfriend." I corrected.

"Whatever you say. And don't come home too late. You don't know him that well yet." he warned.

"Ha-ha. Real funny. You sound like a concerned mother. See you, Jack."

I opened the door and found an angel. Kyle. "Hi." he said, and smirked. He was wearing a 'GEEK' tshirt, black jeans, and a pair of blue Toms.

"Hi." I replied, and he led me to his Audi.

"My house isn't too far from yours. We'll be there in a matter of minutes." he inquired.

"Okay. But Kyle, out of curiosity : why, of all people, would you invite me to your place?" I asked, without thinking twice.

Geez! Why would I ask him that? What answer did I want to hear from him? I shouldn't have asked. I bit my lip.

"You see, Samantha," he started, "you have something in you that I cannot fathom. You're wonderful, not only on the outside, but also on the inside. You're beautiful."

I blushed furiously, and glanced at him. "I-I don't know what to say, Kyle. Thank you."

"You don't need to say anything, Sam. You just have to believe me." he said, and smirked.
