"So. Would you mind telling me what happened that caused such unplesantry on a fine evening?" Jack inquired. I was seated next to him, as I always do. Besides, I really wanted Kyle to take the back seat for more space. (No pun intended.)

"Family matters." I replied for Kyle, and switched my gaze from the road to the rearview mirror. I saw him, drifting far into space. His golden, blonde curls were damp from sweat. I wanted to comfort him; ask him how he was doing, but decided to just leave him alone to himself for a while.

I was basically playing the scenes that are about to happen in my house when suddenly, the car halted to a stop. We have arrived. I immediately left the car. Kyle followed, and so did Jack.

The wind rustled as I set foot on the floor, causing my curls to splay all over my face. Kyle looked at me with fondness and brushed the hair away from my face.

I thanked him, and instantly felt my cheeks heat up.

As we entered my house, the lights were all switched off. Mom went out tonight.

I led Kyle upstairs, and Jack decided to stay downstairs. I took a deep breath and opened my bedroom door. "Wow." Kyle exclaimed, as he entered. "This is such a neat room, and pink. Really pink."

I couldn't help but chuckle.

Kyle sat on the bed and slowly ran his fingers along the soft, furry covers.

"Please, make yourself at home! I'll just take a quick shower." I informed him enthusiastically, and headed for the bathroom.

I gathered my usual sleeping attire; a VS PINK oversized sweater, Juicy Couture sleep shorts, and proceeded to take a warm shower.

I brushed my teeth, hair, and tied my hair in a quick, messy bun. Hastily, I left the bathroom to entertain Kyle, when suddenly, I saw Kyle on all fours of the bed, hands and feet splayed on each corner. How long had I been in the bathroom?

I glanced at him again, and stifled a laugh. I noticed that he was way too tall for my bed. Sooner or later, he is going to suffer from sore legs. He won't be able to walk tomorrow.

"Kyle?" I whispered, and poked him lightly. "Kyle?" I tried again, and nudged at his shoulder. He curled up in a ball, but did not wake. He was fast asleep.

I sat by the side of the bed, hand pushing golden locks away from his face. His mouth was slightly parted, and I unconsciously trailed my fingers along them. It was soft and gentle. It had me thinking for a second how it would feel on my lips.

I flinched as I heard my name being called. It was Jack. He was standing just outside the room, eyes in utmost shock. I realized that my finger was still on Kyle's lips and immediately retrieved it.

I stood up from the bed and switched the lights off. I climbed down the stairs with Jack and proceeded to the living room.

The living room wasn't lit; I could hardly see anything. The only source of light was from the little lamp across the room, but we're used to it.

"Maoams?" he asked, as he unwrapped one and popped it into his mouth.

"In love with Kyle, huh." Jack muttered, as we settled ourselves in the couch.

"Mmm." I murmured, and blushed furiously.

"Why?" he asked, and turned to face me.

I shot up my eyebrows at him. "What do you mean 'why'?"

"Why him? Of all people, why him?" he demanded, and scooted closer towards me.

I wish I had turned the lights on, because I wanted to see how Jack's expression was. "I- I- don't know."

Jack tipped my chin up to face him, even if I can't really see him. "Kyle... he's a troubled kid. You saw what happened there. You might not be safe with him, lovely."

"I love him, Jack, I know I do, but I don't think he feels the same way towards me. I think he sees me as more of a friend, rather someone he would want to be with forever."

"You don't know that." he stated firmly, "You don't know that maybe, just maybe, someone else is also madly in love with you, but just doesn't show it."

"Jack?" I ask him in wonder.

"Don't- just don't. Let's not talk about this furthermore." he stopped me, and took the couch pillow. He settled it on his thigh and pat on it. "Go to sleep, love. You need sleep."

I shrugged and nestled my head against the pillow. It wasn't as soft as the one in my room, but this will do.

"Sammy, are you still awake?"

My eyes were tired, and I didn't feel like answering him, so I pretended to be fast asleep.

"Oh well..." he muttered, and slowly caressed my hair. "Never have I seen such beauty. Never have I felt such love. You are my-"

That's all I've heard. I fell into a deep sleep.

*

I woke up upon the sound of Spongebob. Spongebob?

I fluttered my eyes open and found Jack, staring right at me. "Good morning." he greeted, and pecked a kiss at the tip of my nose.

If people would see how we treat each other, they would think that we were together.

"Are we going to be late for school? What time is it?" I asked him.

"Relax, Sam. It's Sunday. It's 11:54 in the morning. Thank you Lord you are awake. Haven't eaten breakfast yet." he told me.

"Well, why didn't you eat ahead of me?" I asked him. Suddenly, I realized that I was sleeping on the hem of his button-down. "I never wake you up, remember? You look like an angel when you're asleep."

"I am so sorry, Jack! Damn. You must be starving. I'll make brunch." I muttered, and got up from the couch. "How's Kyle? Did he meet Mom?"

"Kyle's upstairs. Of course, Kyle did his thing. Charmed the pants out of your mom. Literally." Jack told me.

My eyes widened. "Literally?"

He laughed. "Of-of course-n-not! AHAHAHAHAHA! You should've seen your face!"

"Cheeky Jack!" I screamed, and stomped my way to the kitchen.

I decided to cook something simple for Jack. He sure wouldn't mind if I made him a bowl of Mac n Cheese, would he? Nah, don't think so.

"Sweetie? Sweetie!" Mom called.

"Mom, I'm making brunch for Jack and me." I yelled back.

"Come here for a second." she told me.

I did as I'm told and found Mom, Kyle, and Jack in the living room. "Hi." Kyle breathed, as he saw me. His hair was tousled; he must have taken a shower... In my bathroom? Oh God. Did he see my "necessities"? I flushed at the thought of that.

"Kyle, hey. So, Mom, what's up?" I asked her casually, trying to avoid looking at Kyle. I won't be able to focus.

"Actually, your friend here, Kyle, is the one who's going to do the talking. I've got no clue what he's got to say." Mom replied, and shrugged.

Kyle cleared his throat. "Mrs. Hiddleston, I know this is a big step, going into someone' s life and all. It truly is. But I would like to ask you, with all due respect : May your daughter, Samantha, be my girlfriend?"

I dropped the wodden bowl with stirred eggs in it in shock.

"WHAT?" Jack and I said at the same time.

"Why, yes, of course, Kyle. But, in one condition : you must promise that you wouldn't do anything to hurt her. That's all I am asking for from you, Mr. Kingsley."

Kyle smirked at me. "Baby." he called, and engulfed me into a hug. I was frozen. What is happening?

"That's a promise I'll never break, Mrs. Hiddleston. Trust me on that one." he replied.
