I stopped at the convenience store to pick up a drink. I walked into my heated house. I grabbed the bag of Goldfish from the counter and headed to my room to change out of my wet swimsuit. I tossed the box and key on the floor and saw a shoe box on my bed.
I opened it and there was a pair of leather, black Dr. Marten boots. They were my size. I saw a note on the bottom of the box so I read it.
" Promise me, you'll never cut yourself again.
-Ta. "Ta? Tanner? Another clue to his name. I picked up the box and key from the ground. The key was too big for the box but it was unlocked so I snapped it open. Inside, had a stainless steel, 6 inch switch blade knife, small leather gloves, a ski mask and another note.
" Your next test is tonight. I want you to go to the diner just a little bit out of town at midnight. There's a black Impala with the licenses plate of W5GHM67. I want you to stab the tires and run away. Dispose the knife somewhere, don't keep it. I'll take care of the rest. After this test, you're one step closer to meeting me. I'll be watching.
-Ta. "I sighed. Tonight. That means I have to sneak out. I knew which diner, David's Diner just out of town. I've never been there before but I know the place. Why would T want me there? Why does he want me to stab the tires and run?
I tried on my new boots and they slid on, perfectly.
" Promise me, you will never cut yourself again. "
It felt good that the killer actually cared about me and bought me stuff. I really hope I get to see him soon.

I decided to watch The Seed of Chucky while eating junky potato chips and soda.
" Holy shit, a thin wire around the neck to sliss it is brilliant, Chucky. " I said, watching the head fall to the hard ground on the TV. I looked at the clock to realize it was 11:35. I should probably start heading my way to the diner. My parents and brother were asleep so it was perfect. I decided to be lazy and keep my sweatpants and sweatshirt on but I put on my new boots which were badass on me. I clipped the knife to my side and walked out of my room through the patio.
It was chilly but not like my arms and legs were freezing type of way. I closed the door nicely and stepped down the stairs and made my way through hard to yard till I started to follow the road. I didn't see a car in sight even though I was nearly out of town which I wouldn't have cared anyways. I would probably jump in front of it which would make them stop and I'd slit their throats through the window.
I was walking beside the darkness of the surrounding trees, making a small woods. I was kicking a small rock with my right foot since I got onto hard ground but I stopped when I reached gravel. When I looked up, the street light lead to the diner. I dodged into a bush when I saw the Impala parked behind the small building. I looked at the window and saw the OPEN sign wasn't on. Well it was almost midnight, what diner is up at midnight. This isn't NYC. I felt myself grip onto the knife and squeeze it, hard. It felt good like the blood was being refilled in my body. After sitting in the bush for a few minutes, staring. I finally got the courage to slowly and quietly run to the car. I felt myself push forward to a small pace of running till I was at the rear of the car. Without hestation and with a big smile on my face, I lifted the knife up and stabbed the right rear tire so hard, I heard it scrap the metal. When I took out the knife, I heard the air whistling out. I felt so good that before I knew it, I stabbed all three tires but the drivers one. Always leave the drivers tire so that way they don't notice their tires are blown. I stared at the lowered Impala till I heard a door being opened. I sprinted and dove into the woods right behind me, landing on the wet, hard earth. I felt dirt in my hands and leaves in my hair but I ignored it and sat myself up to peek through the bushes.
I saw a man, a disgusting looking man who happened to be the so-called beloved David Showers. He had the image of being a successful man with his diner and family, also helping with the town and towns surrounding us. Long story short, his wife left him for a lawyer with his only son and Mr. Showers dewelled after that. Let's just say, Ethan and I have seen him late at night a couple times and well, he knows how to shot a gun... drunk. Mr. Showers was stumbling around, the drunk he has turned into. He was mumbling something. He sounded so angry. I swallowed, hard as he walked to the car and stopped, slamming his hand on the car.
" WHERE ARE YOU?! MOTHERFUCKER WHO SLASHED MY TIRES, I'LL KILL YOU! " I heard him shout as I watched him grab a shotgun from his car. I began to feel a little uneasy. How am I going to get out of here without him shooting me?
" Showers. " I heard a different voice shout and I peeked my head closer to see. In my vision was another man, a tall man wearing all black, hoodie, jeans, boots. Boots exactly like mine. He had black gloves on and a black ski mask on his face but I could see he had blue eyes and a big, beautiful smile filled with evil. My eyes widened and my heart dropped.
" T. " I whispered into the leaves. I watched the drunk man struggle to shot his gun but T didn't even flinch, he just kept getting closer to Mr. Showers. The gun clicked empty to Mr. Showers and he threw himself into the Impala. that's when T pulled a crowbar from his side and jumped onto the car. With all his force, I watched T raise the crowbar in the air and shatter the window onto Mr. Showers. Glass shattered all over the drunken man who sat in the drivers seat, desperately trying to start the car. I watched T grab Mr. Showers and try to yank him out of the car. Mr. Showers yelled and swung his arms at T who continued to pull him out. Mr. Showers began to slam onto the car horn, making the noise blare out loud like a football game. That's when I got the courage to get up from the ground and take off running. Not because I was scared, I wanted to stay and see if it was T who was fighting Mr. Showers but not if police are coming after that car horn.
I took off into the trees and began to follow the highway. All I could hear was Mr. Showers screaming and T laughing evilly as I ran further and further away. The night air smelled so fresh when it was rushed to your face. Wet leaves and tree sticks smacked my face as I raced through the woods. I eventually ran across the highway into my home town, running past neighborhood houses with dim patio lights and dogs randomly barking. I stopped running to catch my breath on the sidewalk, down the street by my house. My feet were burning and my heart was racing. I kept breathing in and out until I could breath normally again.
The rest of the walk home, I couldn't stop thinking about what the fuck just happened back there. Was that T? Did I just witness Mr. Showers murder? I smiled at the thought of that.
