Myrtle's POV

I found Charlotte rather quickly that morning at breakfast. She was sitting alone reading a spell book when I sat down next to her.

"Myrtle, Hi!" She jumped when I sat.

"Hello." I looked around.

"What's wrong? You seem nervous."

"Me? Nervous? No, No" I saw Tom walk in and my stomach dropped.

"Charlotte I need to talk to you." I proclaimed quickly.

"What is it? If it's about Tom then I don't want to hear it, he's a good kid."

"Charlotte, there is something wrong with that boy and you know it."

"No there isn't, just leave us alone." She started to gather her books together.

"Charlotte, stop, what do you think is going to happen between you and him? With him being such an outcast you can't honestly think that he's talking to you because he's into you. He's using you Charlotte, even Dumbledore see's it. Why can't you?"

"We're done here." She lifted her books off the table and stormed out of the hall. I caught Tom's gaze as he watched her leave and something about his stare made my blood run cold. I adjusted my round framed glasses and quickly scurried out of the room.

Charlotte's POV

I couldn't believe that Myrtle would be so against Tom. Dumbledore too, they didn't know him. I had talked to him much more than they had. He is a good person. He isn't going to hurt anyone. I don't even know what they were talking about. He wasn't acting any weirder than usual. Sure he was a weird kid, no one is denying that, but no more than usual recently. I went back to the Ravenclaw common room until it was time for me to go to my first class of the day.

Tom's POV

What had Myrtle just told Charlotte? Was it about me? Why had she looked at me that way? I needed to find out. No, I couldn't if she thinks I'm acting strange asking if she's talking about me won't help. Charlotte would trust me though, she would tell me anything if I tried hard enough. I probably wouldn't even need to try that hard. The day went by and I went through my classes and before it was time to go for dinner I decided to visit the Ravenclaw common room.

I got a lot of strange looks as I neared the room from other Ravenclaws. I got lucky and I found a fourth year Ravenclaw standing outside.

"Oi, You!" I called to him.

"Me?" He seemed scared.

"Yes, do me a favor, tell Charlotte Henry that there is someone waiting outside of the common room for her."

"Should I say a name?"

"No, She'll know." He went into the room and a few moments later Charlotte emerged.

"Tom?" She seemed confused. She ran her fingers through the ends of her hair.

"Hi, um, let's go for a walk and talk for a moment."

She walked next to me as we walked through the corridors.

"What do you need to talk to me about?" she spoke after a while.

"Well, I couldn't help but see you storm out of the hall this morning after you were talking to Myrtle. I, well, I was just wondering what that was all about?"

"Oh, well, she was actually talking about you..." she hesitated.

"Me?" I pretended to be shocked.

"Yeah, everyone's been saying that you're such a bad kid and you're only using me and everyone else you talk to."

"Really?"

"Yeah, I told them they were crazy because you'd never be like that." She stopped and looked up at me. "You wouldn't right?"

I looked down at her. "What? No, of course not." I hesitated. I couldn't have Charlotte against me or not believing me. I did something I never thought I would ever do. I leaned in and kissed her. She looked shocked when we broke away.

"I would never do that to you." I spoke softly. I couldn't have Charlotte against me. Not that I cared, but because I needed her for my plan.
