Benny woke up, hungry and agitated. Again. He was woken up by the bedbugs in his bed "damn bugs." He muttered to himself as he heaved himself out of his bed. His bed was a bright red racecar child bed.The ones that little enthusiastic kids have. But Benny was way too big for the bed and his feet hung from the end of the bet. But he would rather have his feet hanging than place his head on the hard plastic of the spoiler. He scratched his arm furiously

"Can't believe they would even consider sucking the blood out of something as skinny as poor old me." He said as he checked the time on his ladybug clock and saw that it was around 3am. "damn I woke up early again"

He didn't enjoy being awake in fact he would very much like to stay asleep, you see benny was a poor kid. And not the oh I can't buy the newest things poor, he was dirt poor. He didn't even remember if he had eaten anything yesterday but the grumbling in his stomach suggested that he hadn't.

Benny pulled on a rope, and a light bulb opened "let there be light" he softly said as he walked outside of his little shack, and climbed a ladder that led to the tin roof of his little house. The house couldn't be any bigger than a shack but it was home. When he got up there he could see that the water collector was still empty when he passed his hand into it.

Haven't drunk anything in 3 days. I don't suppose that that's a good thing.

He checked his arms they were covered in bug bites. The older bites had scarred his arms when he scratched, and new zits were already all over the tainted skin. He smiled to himself, and said

"I cant wait until the day that those bugs suck me dry hope they starve good."

He vaulted off the ladder, and walked away from his house without even closing the door "nothing to steal" he thought as he walked through the slums of his city.

As he was walking through the slums he saw a familiar face. Miss Hendricks she was an old feeble lady that sat at her table every morning selling bread, her hair was ghost white and braided in a hilarious way that made her hair look like pomp pomps. She was waving towards him to come over as if she had forgot al about what he had done to her, Benny bet that she did since she was so old. You see, Benny had tried to steal bread from Miss Hendricks before, she was usually a pretty nice lady but when he stole some bread from her table she had caught on quick and chased him halfway through the city. She only stopped when she got blocked by a stairway. She even tried to climb up the stairs with her arms knowing that her legs wouldn't be able to carry her fragile body. Most Normal people would wonder what she was doing up this early in the morning selling bread, but life in poverty started much earlier than normal life. Some of the people in this place had woke up at 1 in the morning to go where?

Only god knows

Benny ignored the old lady by picking up speed. Sure it was a pretty rude thing to do but she was probably going to try and pickpocket him anyways. Everyone in the slums was either a thief, drug dealer, or prostitute, and if they weren't any of these things they were dumb. Benny knew a place where he could get some water. The heat house. The heat house was a place where people who have broken the law go to wait the heat out. Benny knew most of the people in the heat house by name, and he was the best at blackmail. Benny would go into the heat house and threaten the people that he would let the cops know about them if he didn't get him any water in 30 seconds. Of course he always had a knife with him when he did it so that they didn't attack him out of anger. Today was different though he had left his knife back home, and the walk back was way too far to go back. He guessed that since they always saw the knife on him they would just listen to him and get the water. He had done it before without a knife so this time should be no different. Benny would have to take the bus to get to the heat house but luckily he had money. A rare thing for him
