Leo's POV
I shouldered the door, but it refused to budge. They were reinforced against werewolves since the school knew we were attending. I hit the door again and again and it shuddered under the pressure.
Shooter.
Nurse Eliza's last thought drifted through the pack link. I could feel the rest of the pack teenagers perk up, most abandoning their classes quickly.
Inke, keep everyone calm. Evacuate the school.
Yes, Alpha.
My mind was racing. My mate was in the room with a shooter. He must've come in through the office. It's a good guess they are all dead. There was a scuffle inside the room and I pounded the door. Finally, it began to budge and it swung inward. Blood was everywhere. The nurse was dead. What was more surprising was a young man - a wolf in his human form - lay on the table, his neck snapped and blood pouring from the wound. Paw prints of blood tracked through the office door and out of the school. My mate was gone.

Tierra's POV
Well, that wasn't how I was planning to start school. I had met him. He was kind, I think. He's a good mate, my wolf told me, happily. The blood was still on our paws as we dashed into the forest, getting as far away from the high school as we could.
As we came upon my grandmother's hut, I could smell intruders. I skirted around the house, trying to act stealthily. I hadn't taken more than a few steps when the door swung open and a large man wearing a well-tailored suit filled the doorway.
"Come in," a man inside called.
The guard in the doorway beckoned me inside, but I refused to budge until I heard my grandmother call out, "Tierra, it's fine. Come on in."
Slowly, I made my way inside, startled to find many men in there ranging from old to young. One man stood out, his aura reverberating through the house. The Alpha of this other pack. I came to stand behind my grandmother, a stranger in a house of strangers really - I mean, I had only met the woman yesterday.
"This is Jackson, Tierra. Jackson, my ... granddaughter."
I didn't like the way the Alpha was eyeing me, and hesitantly stepped backwards. "Bow, my dear," my grandmother instructed me sharply. I did so, my eyes not leaving the rest of the males in the room - Half of which looked at me hungrily.
"Tierra, it is a pleasure to finally meet you. I had hoped to leave you with your grandmother, so she could teach you relatively quietly, how to be a werewolf, but that, I'm afraid is no longer the case. You will be coming with me."
I stood taller, bristling with anger. My wolf whimpered, knowing my outburst in defiance could be felt by the Alpha.
"Alpha Jackson, it is not a pleasure to meet you, I'm afraid. I had hoped to live with my grandmother, so I could get to know her, but that, I'm afraid is no longer the case. I have had enough of being a werewolf and will be returning to the city to my mother," she noticed how he flinched at her words, "Sorry, but I'm not going anywhere with you."
He raked a hand through his hair, sighing. "Feren, please leave us. Secure the house."
The entire group of males filed out of the room, and Jackson turned to look at her. For a long while, nobody spoke. He was older, probably getting into his late forties, and looked regal. Something about him and the older men made her leary. Their faces were more feral, more beautiful than she had ever seen. They seemed elvish, yet wolf at the same time.
"You are one of us. One of the Sea Moon Pack. This pack here is unfit for you, led by a cub that has no idea how to lead. We have news that you and him are mates, but unfortunately I cannot condone such a match so we will be terminating it. That boy is not fit to be Alpha, his pack is a bunch of mongrels. Let me show you what a real pack is."
