Dean
~
If there was one thing Dean wasn't a huge fan of, it was unnecessary exercise and this, apparently, was included in that bracket. For all his complaining in the impala on the drive to your starting point and the final attempt to get out of it when you got there, he did seem to soften to it. Maybe it was the chance to walk away from his troubles or maybe it was just the company, but whatever it was, you saw him relax over the time and become more carefree. At one point it started to hammer down with rain, you ran for shelter under a big tree and huddled together laughing in an attempt to stay dry. It was only at that point you realised your bag had a split in it, but by some stroke of genius, Dean wrapped the whole contents of it in a carrier bag. You'd laughed it off saying he was just playing the hero, but you were thankful that it saved your camera... You'd be wanting that blackmail shot of him getting angry at a compass in a few weeks time!

Sam
~
Sam was actually pretty practical when it came down to it. He was a sucker for the great outdoors and exercise at the best of times, but when he could share it with you, the enthusiasm just radiated off of him. Admittedly, that did come to be a problem when you first set off, he seemed to forget than not everybody had legs of his length and power but after he'd gotten ahead a few too many times he hung back. When you were finally able to set the pace, it was much more enjoyable, he filled you in with random stories about his college days and growing up with his Dad that the peace and quiet brought out in him. Sam wished he'd brought a hat with him by the end though, as his shaggy hair blew around in the breeze making it difficult for him to see, you told him to invest in a hair band but he didn't seem so amused.

Castiel
~
He didn't really understand the point in walking to start with, why not just fly you and him to the end point and back again? The point of travelling was to arrive at your destination, of course. You convinced him that the whole point was the travelling in this situation and after a little confusion, he settled into it quickly. Cas was fascinated as always by even the simplest wonders of the world. He told you about all of the things you saw as you walked: the different trees that swayed in the wind, the birds that soared so high over your heads and how the rocks and mountains formed around you. It made you see things in a whole new light and by the end of the day you felt entirely relaxed. You did take him up on the offer of zapping you the last bit of distance on the way home, though, there had to be some perks to having your angel companion...
