Autumn air wisped around her hair, washing away the summer's humidity. Her eyes closed in response to nature. The trees rustled. The birds chirped. Lylac took in her entire surrounding, refreshing her being. She almost enjoyed everything. Suddenly, her eyes snapped open.

The sky began to darken. The birds flew to further shelter. The insects hid in the trunks and dirt. Lylac's eyes blackened with every breath. Her body began to tense as she reached for her phone.

"My boyfriend never texted me back."
