You sighed as you opened up [Name]'s sweet Shop. 'This is going to probably be another uneventful day filled with baking. But maybe that black haired boy will come by again.' You looked for spills or leaks that had happened during the night and quickly cleaned them up. Next you put out your 'please ring for service' sign on the counter next to a [color] bell. Then you switched the closed sign to open and went into the back room to bake.
L POV
"Ryuzaki, couldn't you have just sent Watari in stead of going to the sweet shop yourself?" Matsuda asked as he pulled into [name]'s Sweet Shop parking lot.
"Watari is too busy to take care of minor tasks like this," I said looking at the shop with great interest.
"But aren't you just as busy or even more so, solving the kira case?"
"I am never too busy to come here," I said before opening the car door and stepping out into the blinding sun. I walked over towards the shop and Matsuda followed. I opened the door and walked straight into a wall of scents. The smell of freshly baked cakes, cookies, pies, tarts, and whatever else that pretty [color] haired girl whipped up in the last couple hours wrapped around the two of us like a warm blanket as we walked into the store.
"Wow," Matsuda said, his eyes closed in pure bliss.
"Now you know why I come here so often," I said walking over to the counter. I pressed the little bell for service. Almost instantly she popped her head out from the back room. A smudge of chocolate was present on her cheek.
"Hello again!" she said cheerily. She whipped her hands on a white towel as she walked over to the counter. "Can I get you anything? Maybe a sample of my newest creation?"
"That would be lovely. Wouldn't it be Matsuda?" I asked as I looked over at him. He was blushing and staring at the girl. A small smile was present on his face.
"Yoo Hoo! Anybody home?" the girl said waving her hand in front of his face like she did to me when I first saw her a couple months before. "I think your friend broke," she said turning to me.
"No, he's just an idiot."
"Hey!" he said snapping out of his daze.
"Nice of you to join us," the girl said giggling. "Now what can I get you?"
"Well, what do you have?" he said trying to turn on the charm.
"Do you see that huge list behind me?"
"Yeah?"
"Everything on that list."
"Wow...that's a big list..." Matsuda stared at the list for over five minutes, before the girl spoke again.
"Mind if I make a suggestion?"
"Please do," Matsuda said looking over at the girl again.
"Try the triple chocolate lava cake. It has a crunchy chocolate outside and gooey fudge core."
"Sounds delicious."
"Okay be back in a second boys," she said before disappearing into the back again. "You can sit anywhere there's room."You POV
"I can't believe I did it. I kept a straight face while that weird guy was staring at me. If not for that cutie beside him I would have lost it," you said as you caught your breath. You walked over to the oven and pulled out a triple chocolate lava cake and your newest creation, the strawberry swirl cheesecake. Okay so you didn't invent it but you tweaked the recipe just enough to make it better then any other cheesecake you've ever had.
You decorated the lava cake with chocolate syrup and a couple chocolate shavings as well as your dark chocolate logo. The other cake was more difficult. You started with whip cream on one side of the plate next to the cake and on the top. Then you found a small perfect strawberry for the top. Next you caramelized a couple more strawberries and laid them beside the cake. And finally the white chocolate logo, nestled into the side whip cream.
"Okay before I take these out I need to change out of this freaking sweater. I can't believe I choose to wear it to work." You ran into the bathroom and tore off the sweater replacing it with a brown T-shirt that read 'Screw Love, I Wanna Fall in Chocolate!' "Perfect!"
You put the two plates on your tray and carried them out like a professional. You smiled while chanting inside your head, 'Don't Mess Up. Don't Mess Up." You walked closer towards the table when you heard the two men talking.
"Seriously Ryuzaki, we need to get back to the building and solve the Kira case."
You groaned. "Please don't tell me you guys are with the police department and are part of the team that are hunting down Kira."
"O-of c-course n-not-"
"We are," the man- Ryuzaki said studying you with his eyes. You placed down the cakes in front of them. "Matsuda don't lie to the pretty lady."
"Then these are on the house. Please find him, I want that man brought to justice for what he did to my father," you whispered.
"Your father?" Matsuda said, not looking away from you for a second.
"Yes my dad. He was wrongly accused of murder. And Kira killed him for it."
"How do you know that he wasn't guilty?"
"Because my dad's brother killed him right in front of me. I still remember the terrible screams." You shook your head trying to remove the memories. Then you forced a smile, "Anyway enjoy the cake, I worked really hard on it!" You turned to walk away but Ryuzaki grabbed your hand.
"Wait."
"Hn?"
"What is your name?"
"Oh, it's [Name], [Name] [Last Name]. This is my shop."
"And what a beautiful one it is," he said before pulling you down for a kiss. It lasted only a moment but was sweeter than anything you could dream of ever baking. When he broke away he smiled an innocent smile and asked cheekily "Are you sure you would rather fall in chocolate?"
