"When we finally got to the end, the world was on fire."
The deep dramatic voice on the video game echoed through out my room. I was online. The only place I could seemed to make friends. I sat at the foot of my bed that had my Batman bed sheets. I held the PS3 controller in my hand and ate some rice cakes my mom made for me after school. Literally the only thing I've eaten since breakfast. I didn't eat lunch at the new school. Even when that boy offered me food.
I thought back to this afternoon when he got me to laugh... That will never happen again. But the problem was that I couldn't stop thinking about him. He was six foot, fringed hair, chubby but skinny at the same time, and hell, we even wore the same outfit today. I remember how cuddly the boy looked, like he was the best at giving hugs, and the adorableness of his sweater paws. He even played guitar, and I noticed his calloused hands, how they would be perfect to hold in my calloused hands, since I also play the guitar, but I'd never show it off like he did in the music room. He seemed perfect.
The online group finally loaded, and we started running towards the fire fight. It was some mythical game where we fought orcs, dragons, ya know... Mythical things. I was semi into it, I really just played to pass the time away, I finish all my work in class, so I rarely have homework, and with the lack of friends, I've always had my papers, and projects in early.
"Honey? Busy?" my mom poked her head in, and I could smell the cookies from behind the door. I shut off the television and put my controller on the bedside table. "How was school today?" She gave me a sympathetic smile.
"Eh," I shrugged. "It was alright, just more challenging sence we're not in America, kids look at me funny here."
"It only temporary hun, they'll either come to like you, or eventually leave you alone, but it could be you who needs to make the best out of it." she kissed me on the forehead, then left the room.
I know my mom only ment well, but the constant moving was getting to me. We moved from Connecticut, to Main, to New York, Boston, then Glasgow, and now Sydney. Part of it was because of her job as a marine biologist, but also trying to escape the connection with a bad past. Both her and I. I felt tired and drained from the first day, so I slipped on my TMNT pajama bottoms and fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning on my own, in that wonderful refreshed way. I slipped on some blue boot cut denims with holes along the leg, black vans, and couple sizes too big of a Young and Hopeless album tee of Good Charlotte. I threw my hair up in a ponytail, did my makeup, then put in my glasses since I accidentally fell asleep in my contacts. I grabbed my bag and car keys, and snatching a Naked juice from the fridge heading off to school. Driving was weird since I was in the land where they drive on the right side of a car, so I felt like I was in a parallel universe when I looked around me.
History, first class of the day was history. I headed inside, and as I always have, I arrived first to class so I could pick my seat. I went with the one in the very back, the one table in every cliche school film where it's been carved in, colored on, pretty much the emo desk. I took it, I like things with character. I sat at the desk and pulled out my book 'Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children', nearly finished. I was thrown off by someone pulling a desk up against mine, causing me to jump, and a familiar laugh echoed through the room. I looked over to see Michael. He was dressed in black skinny jeans, off-white Vans, and a black and gray striped sweater. Adorable. I made eye contact, but quickly looked back down to my book.
"Love, why don't you ever talk?" I got butterflies at the pet name, and tried my damnedest not to blush, and give in. I just shrugged and went back to my book. Thankfully, and sadly he left me alone after that, but never moved his desk away.
