CHAPTER 6:
(Skyler's POV)
We sat there on the beach with the sun high in the sky. I took of my shirt and shorts so I was in just the bikini that I was wearing. I looked down worried to make sure the bruises weren't noticeable. I could still see them, but only because I was looking for them. People wouldn't notice unless I pointed it out. I jumped up and ran towards the ocean, motioning for Riker to follow. As I was about to splash into the water, Riker ran up from behind me and threw me over his shoulder. I screamed and kicked playfully as he brought me far out into the ocean. We were so deep that the water reached up to Riker's neck. I was a lot shorter that him, so of course I could not stand. So, I decided to have some fun. When Riker let me go I plopped into the water and splashed and freaked out.
"I--- can---t----sw---im!!!" I let out in between plunging underwater.
"OH! SHIT!" Riker screamed while grabbing me up out of the water and holding me bridal style.
"Are you okay?" He said in a panic.
I jumped out of his arms and half floated, half back stroked away from him.
"Just kidding!" I said then swam as fast as I could away from him.
Before I could get even eight feet away from Riker, he grabbed me bridal style again. I had barely been able to breathe when he dunked my head underwater. I squirmed and kicked like crazy and he brought me back up. Once I caught my breath, I started laughing like crazy. He carried me back to the beach and lied me down on the towel I had before.
"I'll be right back!" He said running to the parking lot.
Once he had left I lied down and closed my eyes. I could feel the sunrays as they lightly touched my skin. It was so serine. Then it happened. A hand went across my mouth. I opened my eyes about to laugh because I thought it was Riker. But what I saw, I was not expecting.
"What's up beautiful?" He said.
"Get away from me!" I said.
"Now sweetheart, don't talk to me like that." He said, his voice getting angrier. "Now what is a gorgeous girl like you doing at the beach... all alone?" He didn't know that Riker was at his car...
"I... uh... I'm..." Logan forced me up, grabbing my arm, pulling me a little to close to him. "LOGAN!!! LET ME GO!!!" I screamed. And I guess Riker heard me, because he came running back. I noticed he had a picnic basket, but that was the least of my worries. When Riker saw Logan, he dropped the basket and ran straight at us. When Logan saw Riker, he was distracted, so I pulled myself out of his arms. As he went to grab me, I saw him fall straight to the ground... with Riker on top of him.
(Riker POV)
I went to the car to get the picnic basket. I brought sandwiches, chips, orange soda, and all sorts of other snack foods. I still cannot believe that I am here with this girl. There is just something about her that seems... perfect. I grabbed the basket and started walking towards the beach, when I heard screaming. My heart stopped, I wasn't thinking, I just acted on instinct. I started running...then I blacked out.
