Danielle stormed to the front of the bus. Then furiously slammed the boot she had been holding into the trash.
"oh! I can't believe the heel snapped off of my favorite boots!" she growled. "I need to go shopping. The boys who had been eating breakfast on he couch gave her a look that said 'don't look at me, I'm a guy. Guys dont shop.'
"I'll help you get a new cuter pair of boots. I'm up for a day of shopping!" I volunteered.
"ugh, what's all the racket? I'm trying to sleep!" Eleanor groaned, who had just gotten up.
"Danielle and I are going shopping." I informed her.
"I'll be ready in five." she promised, turning around to go to the bathroom. I looked at Danielle.
"should we invite Perri" I asked her.
"good idea, a girls day out. WE COULD GET MANI-PEDIS!" she replied whipping out her phone, cause Perri liked morning walks.
Ten minutes later, Danielle, Eleanor, Perri and I had gotten ready.
"later, boys!" I called to them as I deboarded the bus.
"be good!" Eleanor sternly told Luis. Luis pouted.
"or else." Perri added. We laughed as we left.
We all bought matching shoes. Boots that were, as promised, cuter than the one Danielle threw out. We searched through countless stores, trying stuff on, occasionally buying something. It took all morning then half the afternoon.
After a ice cream cone, we decided to watch the new chick-flick that had just come out in theaters. By the time the movie finished, it was beginning to get dark.
"I'm hungry. Want to stop some where to eat?" Danielle asked.
"me too. All this shopping has worked up an appetite." Perri said.
"what about that new place downtown?" I suggested.
"sounds good. But let's get going, it getting cold." Eleanor said.
"crap." I muttered.
"Hannah? Whats up?" Eleanor asked me.
"I forgot my jacket at the theater!" I replied. "you guys catch a cab down to the restaurant, I'll be there soon after, 'Kay?" I jogged back toward the movie theater.
I was retracing our steps from the theater when I saw a short cut through a series of alleyways. In retrospect I should've seen it coming. But I was cold and I wanted to hurry.
I walked quickly along the first alley. Suddenly, I tripped. I fell, sprawled on the concrete.
"uuuhh." I groaned. I hit my head again. I heard the scuffle of a shoe near by.
"who-whose there?" I called out. Nothing. "hello?" nothing. Convinced I had imagined it, I awkwardly got up.
"you would think a girl like you would have more grace." I heard the voice from a dark corner.
"aah!" I screamed. "who are you?" I asked.
"you already know who I am." the voice snapped, then softened. "I apologize, I forget my manners." then I remembered. I figured out who the voice belonged to.
Tyler.
"what do you want, Tyler." I asked.
"this isn't about what I want, Hannah."
"what then?" I grew impatient.
"this is about what my master wants, my creator, my leader." he answered.
"oh yeah." I scoffed. "and what's so special about 'your master'?"
"master is a vampire."
