The Steep Climb

Chapter 8

The only problem with her statement was, although Gajeel was doing fine, he refused to leave while Levy was in that condition.

"As small as you already are, I can't have my hands behind my back while Im climbing down a mountain. We'll go when you can walk a bit better."

So they were stuck with the new couple. Which neither Levy nor Natsu was happy about. The pink haired guy sat around pouting because we had 'stolen Lucy'.

On top of that, Gajeel was treating Levy like some kind of wounded bird. He was getting her food and carrying her around everywhere, which most girls would think was sweet, but it was seriously pissing her off.

Lucy was trailing Levy with eyes that made it seem like she was the wounded bird, she looked like she wanted to apologize, but Levy turned away before she got a chance to. She knew she probably should give her a chance, but Levy just couldn't face her right now.

So the blunette continued to be smothered and stalked by the people she cared the most about, and being temporarily hated by that other dude.

Then she finally snapped.

It was while her and Gajeel were eating and Natsu and Lucy were... I dont know, karaoke or something? Some action that prevented them from being in their near vicinity.

"Do you want some water or something?"

She thought back to how much Gajeel was smothering me. Rage boiled up inside of her and...

"Yes. Water please."

She didn't snap.

Gajeel got up and went into the cabin-ish kitchen.

"Don't worry me like that again, okay?" He said as he grabbed a glass from the cabin-ish cupboard.

"What?"

"The ankle thing. Don't act like nothing's wrong when something like that happens. You're not going to burden me, I want to know these things."

"Wow, Gajeel I..." Her face turned light pink, she felt like she could tell him, "I-"

"Of course I guess it's your fault for coming here anyways."

Snap.

Thats when it happened, the moment she said the most terrible, irreversible thing she could ever say.

She grabbed a stray cabin-ish spoon and chucked it at Gajeel's head.

"DUMBASS GAJEEL! I LIKE YOU DIPSHIT!!"

Then she bolted out the door, her adrenaline making her forget about her injury.
